Alliance will rarely pick outside of their comfort zone heroes. This makes them predictable (which was one reason for the whole 'alliance had been figured' that had been going on last week), but it also puts pressure on the other team to choose what heroes they will give alliance. Of course each of their players are very talented and they communicated really well which contributes to why they are so good. One the flip side you have liquid who also have a small pool of heroes. Outside of Bulba's clock and Qojqva's prophet, there aren't any notable standout liquid heroes. Sure they heroes that the players are good on but nothing that says 'we should not give them this hero'. Of course a teams success and failures can't just be limited to heroes and drafts. At this point liquid just looks completely lost, which is a shame considering that the team is loaded with talent. Pretty much this. Na'vi is probably the only teams in the current scene that I can think of are Independent of Hero pools and strategies.

EDIT: I get the Midas on OD and Alch, is there any specific reason Bane picks one up besides "reliable gold on supports" rationale?

I would call Liquid a steady decline but this is a free fall
