if you pop them from a 2nd necro3, the ones from the first book don't die I think.
They both go on cd if you pop one, but after refreshing you can pop the other for your own necro army.

Sometimes, I've seen my own character call "Missing top!" without me having called it (by accident). Is this a built-in feature or was I just not listening carefully?
If you're playing co-op vs bot games or bot games in general, there's an automated system for calling "Missing", so it's possible your character was calling missing by itself.
If you're playing normal matchmaking and its happening, then I have no idea.

Yeah that automatic "Missing" thing only happens in bot matches. I believe it's to educate you that calling missing (and open communication in general) is a good idea.

Is it feasible to win a 2v1 as (safelane) Morphling against combos like Viper/Omni or Slark/Earthshaker who starts with a soul ring? Usually I started with 50 damage for lasthitting(although I manage to lasthit with less damage against no enemies). I felt pretty helpless, having no way to harass besides hitting with physical attacks, since Waveform is for fleeing, or at least not to dive in and waddle back to my tower as a form of harrass.
|
viper omni no slark es is doable viper has superior range, harrassing tools and great support. if viper gets boots first you wont even survive with waveform; they can just push into your tower and let the creeps tank while he orbwalks you to death slark es has the downside where theyre both melee. they cant harrass you with right clicks without taking hits themselves, and es with soul ring might be annoying but its hardly a kill threat. just carry ample regen and make sure theyre not full hp 24/7. that way you can bait them into trying to kill you (ideally under your tower) and you can just turn around and kill them. at the very least you should be surviving the lane and getting even with the slark for last hits also, it is possible to harrass with waveform against melee units. take advantage of the fact that they have to come to the creeps to kill them. walk towards the creeps when they try and come in for last hits and waveform backwards. youll want to get a couple creep kills on top of the damage you deal to the hero. obviously if youre not familiar with this kind of play then itll take some practice, but its not like morph absolutely cant do anything against 2 melee heroes with little lockdown and not much burst

aghs is bad on np and very situational. you shouldnt spam your ulti everytime it is on cooldown because - it 'steals' the creeps of your allies - it is very strong in team fights i often use ulti before ganking or during a team fight (but casted on the other side of the map for maximum efficiency).
in my own opinion, there are 3 types of NP
Support NP (not the best support but hey, you always dont get the roles you want in pubs) -buys the courier and wards while buying clarities in jungling, you cant offlane. -get phase as fast as you can while going treant/tp/sprout into 1/1/3 -gank with tp sprout (especially with greedy mids) -mek into necro 3 into scythe -midas if you have the space but you can also skip this, money wont be a problem for NP
Split-Push NP -boots first if solo offlane, RoP + clarities if jungling -get midas into necro3 (but shadowblade is also good) -desolator for that -armor on towers + manta if it gets that late or you could go scythe
Carry NP -boots first if solo offlane, RoP + clarities if jungling -get midas into shadowblade (orchid if needed for certain situations) - maelstrom -> mjolnir or BKB or scythe (depends on the situation) - daedalus
this is how i play NP and for fuck's sake dont go cliff jungling
Most people I play with tend to be on the more inexperienced side. I am as well, but my mechanics are good enough from playing other Mobas that I can at least last hit/deny relitively decently. The reason I go aghs on NP so much (wherever my Matchmaking places me) is that
-It's very rare that there is a teamfight so there's no reason to save it for teamfighting. People just kind of stay wherever for most of the game, and it usually comes down to 1-2 players in a game totally taking over the game (usually a guy smurfing or something) who is pretty obviously much better the rest of the people in the game -People are, for the most part, very poor mechanically. Its very rare to see more than 1 person (besides myself) have over 20-30 or so last hits after 15 or so minutes. If I get money relatively quickly I can push towers and get my team global gold that is probably way more than the gold they would have gotten from last hits anyway.
I've seen some pro players go dagon on prophet on streams and on youtube, but maybe it's not actually good, it's just something they do in pubs.

Cliff jungling isn't that bad because it lets you gank at level 2 (tp+sprout). Players like Ohiyo (from Titan) also use cliff jungling because they can get TP at level 1 and place wards in the enemy jungle (although this is not as relevant in pubs).
|
Cliff jungling really is awful. There is like a 20 second window in which the TP+sprout can be used to gank faster than a treant build could. If you don't use that incredibly narrow window to get a kill, you would have been better off with treants. Even if you succeed you're probably even at best.
It should only be done when you know exactly what you're doing and why. That's ironic, because it's almost exclusively done by people who know neither.

About prophet (or any other hero who being off the map in the beginning could be excused by jungling), when is going for courier snipe in the midlane worthwhile and what is the general timing window where this should be tried?
I'm at 3k MMR so it's low level pubs where midlaners are of varying skill so "one should have bottle after the first wave" rule wont apply most of the time. Also if the game is what is can I trust that my midlaner will be able to use the edge from the courier snipe or may I in worst case just waste my time to take an objective that my team won't be able to use to their advantage.
EDIT: how about blademail on centaur, is it worth it considering that usually at least two other items (blink and hood/pipe) are built almost always and after that aiming for lategame items such as Heart starts to be reasonable.

Sniping the courier is always nice if you can get away. One easy way to do it is just keep your eye on the minimap and when you see the white courier dot mid lane, go for the snipe. That can be dicey if the mid laner plays back and you can't see when the courier arrives. If you aren't communicating with your mid laner, that makes it harder. You can also check the opposing mid laner's starting item build---1 set of tangos + branches means a very fast bottle, more expensive items means slightly slower.

Can you sell items anywhere on the map, much like you could in HoN by pressing ctrl + shift and clicking on the item?

Does anyone have a replay of a successful Doom jungle? Preferably one that involves a quick Midas timing. I saw Bone7 jungling Doom recently but he went Tranquils -> Bottle which feels weak for pubs to me.
I'm having trouble getting a decent Basilius + Brown Boots + Midas timing.
|
Jungle doom is dependent on spawn luck. If you get an early satyr into wolves you'll Have an easy jungle if you start with hellbears or Wildkin you're gonna have a bad time. There isn't much to it, eat the big camp kill the medium camp then the big camp again usually while waiting for devour to come off cd, after that standard rotations through the jungle. You can go the eat wildkin stack and clear method but doom has a horrible mana pool and you can't afford it without a fountain trip especially with the mana cost nerf to devour

To clarify, the wildikin stack trick is the only way to get a decent 6 timing but you have to get a wildikin and if u don't ur hosed.

Are there any dota2 talk shows like there are for starcraft? I've done some looking, but I haven't found much.

I saw in the thread for the most recent Dreamleague that the Brewmaster got his day in the sun. Was there any reason that he was such a prominent pick/ban? I don't think I saw him much in the last International.

He got back into popularity during TI4 SEA Qualifiers or the Chinese scene before that i think and was pretty dominant. He also recieved a lot of buffs recently

You can do what this one asshole did and ask to get a ward and a tango pooled. Start with tp first and tp inside the trees near the enemy fountain and place a ward looking inside. When the courier comes out snipe it and tp and cliff jungle your next level. This is what one guy did and my whole team flamed me for losing the courier ( I was mid) when it didn't even leave the base. One guy on my team ragequit after giving first blood and we lost. So if you have any doubt that this us a winning strategy well there ya go. I've never done this though.
