how does omnislash interact with jugg's regular attacks? according to the description on liquipedia,

Juggernaut continues to attack normally in addition to the Omnislashes while jumping around. In these attacks, Juggernaut can place buffs and trigger chance effects such as Blade Dance.

how do his attacks work? does he attack whomever you are hitting with omnislash at the time?

Yes. Note that each jump interrupts his attack so you need certain thresholds of attackspeed to get 1 or 2 hits off per jump.

any idea what that threshold is?

EDIT: thank you

Does anyone know how smurf detection works? I have an account that I play on when playing with my FPS / SC2 buddies. They're godawful at dota, so I started a new account and have never tryharded on it, assuming that if I play neutrally it'll adapt to their MMR... yet the game seems to have picked up on my actual account's MMR somehow, to the point where I can't confidently play mid and guarantee I'll win the lane... much less the game.

Here's the account.

http://dotabuff.com/players/176890997

Conspiracy theory is that Valve has some sort of "watch list" for smurf detection, and has somehow linked my actual account to this one, and raped the MMR accordingly.

There some kind of smurf detection im pretty sure but the player skill varies greatly. in my 15+ games in the past week on my smurf where i play mid a lot, the skill of my opponents vary greatly. some are just very new and some feel like they are around 5k+ but reguardless all get crushed cuz i pick ta lol. 1 more lvl till that account is ranked ready and i can hand it over to a friend, even with a compendium grinding to lvl 13 takes quite sometime.

Just out of curiosity, why are you grinding a friends account?

you generally face better players in ranked. and i get to practice heroes i never play aka ta on the smurf. we both work alot with the exception that his job is more stressful but he makes 10x what i do lol. only really get to get together and lan once awhile on weekends might as well play ranked since the game quality is better at my mmr range.

I know there's smurf detection.. I just assumed it was related to something.

I know that if you start a brand new account, it'll only take 10-15 wins/games to get pretty close to your MMR. What's confusing me is that this is a new account that's 3 wins 11 losses and is still "pretty close" to my actual MMR. And I haven't played good / near my actual MMR on it... so I'm wondering how it decided to smurf detect me.

It's mostly an appeal to Yangod, basically. Or other mystic source of insider dota knowledge.

it takes alot more games than that. im 60+ games in and still get people with sub 10games that just gets crushed and ragequit. even on my main when i accidentally q unranked i get people with sub 50games. i think valve made the skillrange huge in unranked to make q times shorter.

but nobody knows how it really works besides valve.

From what I understand dota matchmaking isn't afraid to apply people really high uncertainties as part of its smurf detection. I.E. if someone plays their first game on an account and gets sick stats, a huge KDA, and a big W in their first game at what was a 1.5k mmr range, Dota is inclined to say to itself "Okay so he's somewhere between 2k and 4k", then throw you with two games played into a 2800. If you win that game with above-average stats for that bracket, the uncertainty goes to 3k - 4.5k, until it places you where your endgame stats and winrate are within the average bounds of that bracket.

Then again I'm talking straight out of my ass, so there's that. Though it does explain why you'll get people at high matchmaking after only a handful of games.

easy way: time machine back to pre-nerf
hard way: practice kicking stones a LOT

drop stone, kick(stun) -> pull(silence) -> roll -> ult -> keep dropping stones to refresh ult

Questions about Omniknight that I could easily test in a bot game but am too lazy to:
Does casting Repel on a unit under effects of your Ultimate still remove effects of the Ultimate? I think it used to but it may have changed in a patch.

Is a friendly unit under the effects of Repel not affected when I cast my Ultimate nearby?

When would I want to Repel an enemy hero?
No dough, no go. And no mercy.

Repel no longer removes positive buffs from allies as of 6.81. Ulti gets applied thru repel for sure.

Best use for repel on enemy is to make them unaffected by naga song.

The general understanding is that your individual performance somehow factors into your early provisional matches (maybe first 20 or so?). Also, your changes in MMR are much more drastic early on. The idea is that if you're playing at a 5k level, your influence on the game and your performance will reflect that you dramatically outclass everyone else in the game, so the amount of rating you'll earn is therefore inflated to allow you to reach your intended MMR more quickly. This means weird things can happen in your first few games on a new account, like gaining rating for losing depending on how you did in that game.

As a person who does not normally play Lycan, why is he considered such a strong hero in the current meta? Is it solely because of his tower-pushing potential?
