Well, using Manta as well as diffusal blading yourself removes dust.

I had no idea you could diffuse yourself. What a great idea.... and since I have never gotten the hang of double quoting, I'll just say that carrying around my own gem seems like a viable option I guess. I feel like that slot would be better used for something else. But, survival > all I guess.

And I think positioning being a big deal, and general map awareness, makes total sense. I guess I just need to play smarter. Unless they're roaming in a pack of 5... then I just smoke and hope I don't get owned too fast =\

Thanks!

About gems:

It's as much about survival as it is about keeping the whole entire map scary for any single hero. When you've got an invis hero that has solo kill potential you directly benefit from map control / dewarding more than any other hero, because you're in a position to challenge them on their own half of the map with relative safety. Controlling the map isn't something you should underestimate on stealthy ninja assassin heroes!

Another couple of questions, I noticed in http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=255359&currentpage=4281 that a guy got a tournament item for Spirit Breaker. How do you get those? They don't come from regular chests do they? Do you have to buy the ticket for the event or something? And while we're on the topic of tournaments, I was watching one the other day and after first blood it said in the corner that "so-and-so received an item for witnessing first blood" and then there was another at the end about "so-and-so gets an item for witnessing a glorious victory". What does that mean? Are viewers of the tournaments just awarded random items?

Are public games random skill level or there is mmr involved? If there is mmr after how many games does it kick in?

If your account is fresh, then the skill level of your first few games will vary obviously since your skill level hasn't been determined yet. Afterwards, mmr is definitely involved but no one (but valve) really knows the full details of how match-making works

Diffusal purging dust is a bug as far as WC3 parity goes. As far as I can tell though, it's hard to say whether or not this is an intentional change.

It did not.

Dust was a Universal-type debuff. It was not removed by purge or magic immunity. It was removed by Mirror Image, however, because Mirror Image removed Universal-type debuffs.

DotA 2 got rid of/condensed most of the dispel/buff type interactions. In particular many of they physical dispels do not work anymore outside of a few edge cases

So physical / magical buffs / debuffs don't apply to dispel in dota2, but DO apply to magic immunity in dota2?

Wat.

Technically they apply, it's just that most of the physical dispels in the game flat out don't work. For example, the interactions between Ensnare-based spells and physical dispels are for the most part nonexistent: http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=55647

A similarly bugged interaction involves physical dispels and Envenomed Weapons-based spells (basically Venomancer's entire kit), but that was marked as intended because a core tester said so: http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=28279&p=162040&viewfull=1#post162040

Yes. They drop to three or four spectators in the game upon specific events, like multikills, first blood, courier kills etc. Only for tournaments, and you need to be a ticket holder and usually in DotaTV.

The boat always travels 1000 units from the cast location, it doesn't matter how far away you click. For reference, 1000 units is just short of a blink daggers range.

If you cast level 2/3/4 X from max range and cast boat from the same point, then it will just hit (level 2 will only just hit, but level 4 is almost centred).
The only barrier to truth is the presumption that you already have it. It's through our pane (pain) we window (win though).
