Visage is played often, Invoker at least from time, to time - but I never saw someone doing this, why?

Combined with a maxed out alacrity, this means 2*1.8/0.4 = 4.5 attacks per second with +80 damage from alacrity, so +360 damage per second just from this (not considered their low basedamage and the bonus damage, which they will burst out much faster, too). Visage is played often, Invoker at least from time, to time - but I never saw someone doing this, why? Because alacrity has a cooldown so you can only use it on one familiar at the time, not both. Also to have 80 dmg combined with the max attack speed requires maxed in both wex and exort, by the time you have this its late enough into the game that the familiars doesn't matter much any more, and you'd rather throw that alacrity on the hardcarry or yourself. edit: before you say it: No. Do not waste a refresher on alacrity. The 6 spell combo is simply too amazing for that.

Of course this leans more towards the carry, the more farmed he is, but at the same time, especially if you level exort before wex, so the +dmg of alacrity is there, but not yet the speed, it's much better on the familiars. Take e.g. a maxed exort with only one lvl in wex, you had a plus dmg of 90*1.2/0.4-25=245/s. That's not so bad, I guess... But probably you're right, that in the early stages it's not really worth doing the extra invoking etc. - maybe at least, if you are on a lane and want to take a tower down, quickly... ![]()

He wants to isolate weak heroes and pick them off one by one while actually rightclicking them as melee hero. This takes time and if your opponents knows how to play versus him they can either help each others or just tp. As well as good players will try their hardest to stay above 50% hp at all times, using meks, urns, and all that jazz. He is also really bad at pushing/ anti-pushing, killing towers and defending towers is a pretty big thing in a competetive game. Im not saying that he will never be picked, some teams might find use for him. Maybe someone might wanna play him as a support just because of thirst but then again what the fuck is he supposed to do until he gets level 6.

One of his biggest problem is that he is god awful at laning. He can only really go 1v1, he is pretty bad in 1v3, 1v2, 2v2, 2v3, 3v3 situations early. Even then in 1v1 your enemies could send an even stronger laner against him and he wont really do good there either. Remember in competetive people will try to counter pick and counter lane. Sure you can lastpick him. But I dont really see why you would want to when there is a whole pool of heroes out there who is actually better then him at what he does(silencing, staying in lane, single target damage). That shit could work.

Competitive players have better map awareness/wards which means it is harder to solo gank lanes by just running and casting ulti. For being a support, he offers only silence most of the part and melee. He sustain laning by last hitting and denies which is most of the time done by the carry. He needs solo experience and items to be effective which means he should be mid or not picked. (he has no hard laning capability imho, he'd lose the lane due to 1v2 or 1v3 harass at the end). I see no strong point to pick him mid, considering there are better alternatives.

Blood bath and thirst are only good if u get people low. Silence is ok. Pretty weak melee damage. No spell damage outside ulti. His skills just aren't that good. Plays same role as nightstalker, while former is better.

I still think BS can be a strong counter pick to melee carries, especially lifestealer, with the new rupture. Dota isn't only about 1v1 interactions tho, sorta similar to how Razor never got played when lifestealer was a first pick despite countering the hero.

To quote virtus pro's NS in this TL blog: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=433216 I have received about 20 messages of "Will you guys pick Bloodseeker? He is imba now!" I don't see how is he imba. Sure I've seen the video where he runs with almost 2000 movement speed, but you will not get 5 low HP heroes all the time, you will not build Shadow Blades, BoTs, MoM's etc. Your team will not run as fast as you do. Yes, he can run very fast, but when he runs into the enemy team, the enemy team breaks his face.
