Tinker lategame is great, it's just that he has a really weird power curve because of how he needs to start with a lot of items that serve specific functions that don't increase his ability to kill people (Travels, Blink).

Does rearm reset Necronomicon? If it does, either he gets a shitton of necro minions, or they die when resummoned, which would allow him to deny their bounty instead of being forced to feed them.

Seems like a pretty strong pickup (He said, knowing that right now you could basically say "Nec book is good on X hero!" and be right.)

[edit] ne'ermind. Necronomicon is not reset.

You would forsake the 600 last will damage the melee minion does.
On the other hand you could instantly resummon necros once the melee minion is dead, which is a big plus in my book.
If nobody hates you, you´re doing something wrong. However someone hating you doesn´t make you right

I did lookin'. It isn't reset. For a while it was bugged to not kill the old necro minions upon reset, meaning tinker could have many necro minions. Then that was fixed, and it was bugged so that nec2 and nec3 were still resettable, but would kill the old necro minions. Now, no versions of necronomicon are reset by rearm, so it's no better on tinker than it is anyone else.

Well, there's something to be said for necro on tinker simply because it gives him a semi-legitimate way to apply pressure to enemy buildings that he otherwise lacks (Similar to manta tinker and hit with illusions) but I don't think it can possibly be as good as items like Sheep/Shivas/Dagon/Eblade.

Beastmaster + Lycan = Very happy necrobook minions :D

Manta used to re-arm without destroying the old illusions. That was a fun time, now the 2nd cast will destroy the initial illusions.

Anyways I suppose you could still go Manta if you really wanted to push since you'd still be able to keep illusions up 100% of the time. It still seems way worse than just focusing on teamfight items though.

What about grabbing a buckler/mek on Tinker so he can at least give the +2 armor to the minions each time he pushes or even buckler + basilius*, but that seems like it'd eat too many inventory slots for Tinker?

* Do they stack? I couldn't find info on it.

Shadowblade tinker best tinker. Rearm + Shadowblade during rearm cast, then go hit them, shadowblade, hit again. THE DPS!

Then with manta you can manta off dust and rearm + shadowblade :D Plus you turn into a right click machine!

Okay its terrible lol.

Then you make a Satanic and keep rearming that as well. Sounds great!

Lol, okay.

So I'm just playing him wrong. I'm pretty new to DotA2 and I don't really understand the other heroes as much. So I guess wasting all my mana on Pudge is not a good idea.

I do lasthit a lot and I usually get my boots fairly quickly (i've gotten them as fast as 7:30) but I don't really know what to do at that point.

Usually when I have soul ring + boots and rearm I just spam march across the various lanes to push creeps back and farm my scythe of vyse.

Sound good?

THANKS!

Sounds almost perfect. Farm up your blink before scythe though, since with a blink you can shift-queue blink into Trees (after your TP) and not have to worry about getting ganked. March goes through trees just fine.

Plus blink allows you to position well in fights. Some people buy dagon before sheep.

Delay your 3rd level of ultimate until you have at least sheep though, since without it you don't really have the mana to use rearm 3 properly.

I think you mean instead of sheep
who needs hex when you can just eblade dagon them to death~

Be mindful of the carry though. As good as Tinker is with items, if you aren't playing him as the #1 you gotta give a little room to your carry, especially in pubs where people farm slower. Nothing is worse than a Tinker or KotL that keeps all the lanes pushed so far out that the carry can't find any farm.

Lol I quickly learned that doing that in pubs will get you yelled at...

even as #1 you should try to avoid farming lanes as much as possible midgame, especially once march is maxed, unless they're dangerous for other players to farm or the opposing team is trying to push into your tower
lategame just push out lanes as much as possible, at that point keeping the lanes pushed out is more important than distributing farm effectively

This must've been like 6+ years ago because 5 years ago using manta certainly destroyed old illusions.

Maybe it was a dota 2 bug?
The only barrier to truth is the presumption that you already have it. It's through our pane (pain) we window (win though).

manta rearms and re-does the illusions, BUT only from that manta. you could have 4 mantas and make 8 illusions with rearm.

i believe this does not work in dota 2 though/

Yeah it was never in dota 2. I'm actually combining two things:

-2x Manta refresh-rearm from DotA which was a thing, but always a joke build
-2x Manta from HoN where anyone could do it at one point (shared cooldown was bugged) so it was sort of a legitimate-ish carry build for the like week or two until it was patched.
