How can he kill you 1v1 if you are farmed? Or you mean you are disabled until all the enemies arrived to send you off?

I got a pretty farmed up gyro and wanted to grab an easy kill but somehow I was locked and I couldn't do anything but just stare and die You should be able to tank his ulti just fine if you are farmed. Other than that, never engage him without support if he has friends nearby, there's no way to break his ulti when caught in it and his friends will destroy you.

I would focus on 2-3 heroes and learn those in depth. You will learn other heroes well enough to know what they do as you have them as allies and enemies. The benefit of not having to constantly learn how to play new heroes is that you get to learn other things instead, like juking/stacking/pulling/last hitting as well as a general game understanding, all of which can be applied to every other hero.

Disagreed. All the things you said you have to learn regardless of how many heroes you play, but at the same time, some of those things matter little in low level. In low MMR, it doesn't matter if your 2-3 heroes are support heroes, you're not going to be stacking and pulling much anyway. One could also make the case that having a good idea of what each hero does is more beneficial than learning more indepth about general gameplay mechanics. For example, you will be forced to learn how to last hit regardless of what hero you play, focusing on one or two carries might give you time to learn more about creep equilibrium, when to push and such aspects, but knowing all heroes seems far more important to me. It's not like you can even pick what heroes you want to focus on before trying them all, so make sure to not waste your newbie time and play them all. If you focus on 1-3 heroes, you might get higher MMR quicker, which will make it all the more painful when you lose over and over trying new heroes. Better to random heroes when you're in bronze tier instead since it will be a more equal playing field.

Hell, I'm at 600 games and I've played pudge once a long time ago, and I know exactly how that hero works in and out. Granted I might not be able to land perfect hooks all the time but I don't find that crucial to my overall Dota 2 skill. Also getting to higher MMR quicker is a good thing imo, as you learn more by playing with and against better players.

Also getting to higher MMR quicker is a good thing imo, as you learn more by playing with and against better players. You learn far more and far quicker by playing a hero. Seeing pudge play, you might understand how his hook and rot works, hell, you might even realize how to do his combo... but that doesn't give you any real feel for him. You don't know how his item progression works, at what point in the game he feels powerful, how to shut him down in lane... all of this you learn extremely fast by playing him a few times and experiencing how he is to play. Empathy is important in Dota. You could just play Shadow Fiend every single game mid and then cry at your teammates when they lose their lanes... or you can play those other heroes in those other lanes, so you can understand their situation in the future, and know that there's stuff you can do to help them. One of the awesome aspects of dota compared to Lol is that you have access to all heroes... abuse this fact.
