I didnt play much games yet but it's always 1-3 minutes, maybe it took more than that once or twice? (US East/West, All picks since i'm still a dota newbie)

Top end for me is 15 minutes on something like one server us east captain's mode during bad hours.

Lowest is 30 seconds. Average I would say is 2-3 minutes for US E/W with AP + other modes.
What does it matter how I loose it?

The Ring of Aquila has a toggle active--you can choose whether the mana regen aura (I think that's what it is) affects non-hero monsters and creeps.

Under what circumstances would you want to toggle this? What's the difference?

It also gives two armor which will make your lane push. If you're trying to freeze the lane turning it off is a good idea.

When you want to push your lane, toggle on. Allied creep will have additional armour and thus will push the lane.

When you don't want to push the lane or you want to anti-push the lane, toggle off.

In SC2, I have a pretty good idea of what defines the early game, midgame, and late game, and how the game transitions from one to the other. I don't really have that sense in DotA 2, though. What defines the early game, midgame, and late game?
Can someone please explain/how water falls with no rain?

A very basic way is simply 0-20 minutes = early, 20-40 minutes = middle, 40-60 minutes = late.

But beyond that the lines between them in Dota are very blurred. Many years ago you could have said 'early is the laning phase, middle is the ganking phase and late is the pushing phase', but this no longer holds true.

I almost replied with your second line, haha. It's actually really hard to define today what is what. I'd say that it's more of a feeling. I think I'd say that late game is the time of the game when you start checking for buybacks, when the heroes are so strong that the game is really fragile, a convincingly won teamfight pretty much means gameover. I don't know if others would agree to that but that's at least what I think..

This isn't strategy, but: Is there a way to see what # of game of a series a replay is when you're watching it? I downloaded a bunch of TI2 games out of order, and now I don't know which ones come first.

I'm not 100% sure if those are in the replays, but if you see green dots below the team names right on top, those show the score of the current series. If you don't care about a spoiler here and there you might be able to just look out for that.

I kind of feel like the early game = before most heroes have their core finished(Whatever that is for the hero), midgame is after most heroes have their core until 1-2 luxury items, lategame is after that. So midgame heroes basically would function at their best with just their core items complete, early game heroes need next to no items, lategame heroes(carries) need a few luxury items in addition to their core to function the best.

TL admittedly is still growing, there are some news articles present on other website that aren't here just yet (such as the recent WCG:Asia tournament). But other than Joindota.com, there's not really anything out there.

ESFI world are good, gosugamers is the old go-to games site.
