I stopped playing before Heart of the swarm came out btw. Side note: imagine the nostalgia with the Starcraft one remastered version. I might actually cry, reminiscing about Idra and Day 9 back in the day competing in those games and being some of Western civilization only hope of winning any international tournament. Idk. I will say a lot of pros do appreciate SC2 for what it is, I mean Liquid did have like one of the best Western teams for a long time... Then Taeja retired.

I miss the BW/SC2 days sometimes - I am still a huge TLO supporter, but when time is short you gotta get your priorities right and I'd like to watch dota a bit more atm. Feeling the struggle for the Matumba-king that's why support you! keep on the work!

Day9 was good, but never really a top foreigner. Don't get me wrong, I love Sean - kept up with the Dailies since very early on, and even now I'm watching some of his Dota streams. Just saying, except NA, he wasn't really a top foreign contender at WCG or anything. Idra was mostly crap until quite late, when he went to Korea iirc, but then he was sort of at the top I guess. I would rather say Mondragon, Draco or Sen were THE foreigners. Would't want to forget about Nony. Pj or Strelok either. Now I'm getting really nostalgic ![]()

We didnt even have Internet in the House back then. My first online Game was Guild wars and CS: Source, then Starcraft and dota 2. My best memories from Starcraft 2 come from homestory cup, what a great tournament Series that was;) way to make me feel old mate ![]() but yeah, I was "already" in my late teens when SC Vanilla was released^^ I really dislike Take... a guy who became famous by tower rushing people in W3 and thinks he's the bees knees now... but I have to agree with HSC, that is the one good thing about take. That's why I enjoy The Summit quite a bit as well, sort of a similar concept. We went to the GIGA studios frequently back in the BW days (this must've been 2004/05 or something) for ESL/EPS games... and I met him a few times. He's such an arrogant ... as well -.-

Anyway Take wasnt the reason i loved homestory cup for. It was this amazing casual starcraft tournament, where the pros could relax, and play poker in the background. I was also a big fan of Rotterdam, good caster, and a great guy. They also always had really good players, i remember when taeja won it 3 times in a row. My favorite player, TLO was also always there. Really just great memories;) But i agree, the Summit does a very good job with the same concept.

So I guess in that sense it's just "regular USA visa issues" - which can create a lot of problems as well I guess
