But one thing I'm interested in seeing is what happens with Zai before TI. His school ends around May or something so there's plenty of time to play with a team before TI to get ready. The issue is just that the last shuffle period for the top teams is after Shanghai, so Zai either has to join a team soon and then just play less events until school is mostly over and he can travel or make a stack out of leftover players for the TI quals with limited chances of succeeding.

If he does squeeze in before TI, I can see it on Euro Mix Team #13 like mama's boys that's semi-serious semi-not. I think most serious teams will want to stay roster locked ~3 months for TI.

For example a possible scenario could be that Secret doesn't have a great run at Shanghai, they want to do changes, and Puppey asks Zai to join. Then they just don't play too many events or play with a standin if Zai can't travel to every event. The events that really matter after that are the Manila Major and TI, and I think Zai is able to play those.

I hope he does that just to get himself back into practice earn himself a bit of money. Then when he shows good plays the big boys come in for him after ti6. He isn't making any money with a pub stack nor would he qualify to TI6 with such a team , if anything playing with a bad/mediocre team will hurt him more then help as everyone will want to watch him play and sure enough he will be "bad" because the team will lose most of the times and then idiots will say he is now bad. as ppl mentioned he can choose to play with almost in any team , teams will make room for him and compete for his contract , i say either go big or go home for him , you play for a high caliber team or just stick to pubs until you are ready to put everything on the line again. Amazing player can't wait to see him back in action.

Since TI5, out of the 7 tournaments they entered (including Captain's Draft), they top 3'd in 6 of them, including a first place finish at The Summit.

but i dont really get the logic of bootcamping in boston. but i guess u could scrim all the euro teams easy. i guess if they bootcamped closer to china, there's no guarantee that any of the chinese teams would even scrim them.

That said... I live near Boston. It's kinda exciting, maybe PPD will shoot some video in the area and I can feel special.

He's been uploading FPVODs of him playing high-MMR pubs lately, and they tend to all include some assortment of players from EG with guest appearances from Bulba and Yawar (Aui has been around too, but hasn't shown up in any of PPD's games yet to the best of my knowledge). When high level competition in your region takes the form of your own team and a couple players from DC, there's a pretty big problem. And going abroad is a relatively terrible option, given the necessary added stresses. That's why it's amazing that EG can continue to place well given lack of training partners.

Of course it's an advantage to have more potential teams to play against right where you live, but in practice I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Feeling pretty good about EG right now, they completely dominated Captain's Draft, hopefully they can carry it forward!

If there are other western teams there early they can scrim, also I'm sure that now groups are revealed there will be Chinese teams outside of D that will want to scrim. Feeling pretty good about EG right now, they completely dominated Captain's Draft, hopefully they can carry it forward! EG is the only team I can predict with any certainty will get top 3. In my opinion every other team can finish at any place at shanghai. for all the hype behind alliance and ehome i still think they are prone to huge upsets during big international LAN's like this. over the last 6 months no team has looked anywhere near as consistent as EG under a variety of circumstances. IF EG don't make top 3 then i will certainly be impressed with whoever stopped them from achieving it. as for winning shanghai is don't think they have it in them. EG has never been the underdogs in any LAN they have attended for the last 2 years. EG go into every tournament with a HUGE target on their backs. This means that it is very likely there might be a team or two who have EG's number at Shanghai so it's no big deal, its only a testimony to how strong they are.

Ehome has done about as well as you can expect, they finished 1st in the last 3 tournaments they attended. I agree that EG is almost expected to finish top 3, with strong chance to win. In my opinion, they are in the roughest group. However, this seems to only benefit EG, as they very much like to feel out LANs then adapt as they go.

I can possibly see a Sumail kick coming soon if he starts under performing some more. Its a joke right ? are you being sarcastic ?
