EG's vision game got a whole lot better, the drafting was really well-prepared in game 1. Game 2, VP came back really strong and probably takes that game about 60% of the time. But some really clutch buybacks and the high-ground holds. Game 2 was awesome.

VP picked a pocket strat and their lategame execution just couldn't compete, especially Noone looked like he doesn't have Sniper drilled enough

I hope they don't split because of this result. Lots of scope for improvement, they can still be a very good team.

Hopefully they will strive in the new patch.

He was the decision maker & everyone else had almost no say. This time, it's only young guns & may be Fear with some influence. It will be interesting how they go forward after this but staying together is still the best option for everyone. I hope Fear understand the potential in this team & convinces everyone to stay.

As great as the VP series was, the OG series was rancid. OG exposed how much EG telegraphs their future picks in the second ban phase. I'm convinced the TB ban in Game 2 put them at a huge disadvantage that they never recovered from. This was Cr1t's first major drafting. Drafting was going to be EG's problem until Cr1t simply had more experience. We saw this with DC last year. Until the TI6 qualifiers, they couldn't ban against non-NA competition for the life of themselves. Improving their drafting and a good meta-shift in their favor and they take 2nd at TI. At the same time, Fly has won 2 Majors (and is now in a 3rd Final) as captain. He's currently the best drafter on an active roster. No shame in getting exposed. It's really hard, especially with that much money on the line. Though the worrying part is that the true hallmark of ppd drafting is a mid-game plan, but it's regularly not there for the current EG. Hopefully, that'll come with experience. Lastly, Jerax is probably the best player in the world at the Major. That matters, a lot. (There's a funny part that OG pretty much beat EG with the most classic ppd-lead approach: have a specific mid-game timing and hit the team fight like a sledgehammer.)
