that edit. I think my DAC compendium was the highest level one I had. Cause I wanted that Alch immortal lol. I've been wanting to get the enigma bracers but been holding off buying levels

ya I mean I think dev skill correlates moderately well with pay (obviously plenty of exceptions, but more competitive companies tend to pay better so at least interview skill correlates moderately well with pay :p) however afaik mediocre or straight up bad devs still make a pretty good living relative to average so I dunno, maybe accounting for time/effort invested in learning mediocre devs are more spoiled does this post make sense

I've got no idea lol my post is terrible well that's not true actually I care a lot about that question and have tried to form somewhat of an idea at least as it relates to interviewing, which is something I do a lot and care a lot about However I still don't really know how I'd define mediocre To some degree I know how I'd define "bad" (at least, again, from the perspective on an interviewer). And since I tend to follow a "if I'm unsure then the answer is no" policy w/r/t interviewing I guess for me mediocre isn't a particular meaningful label, as it just means "less bad but still no". I've also been lucky enough to work with, on average, very talented devs for the past few years. I guess I can think of a few people that you might classify as "mediocre" where mediocre is defined as something like "either not smart or motivated enough to get good work done at a reasonable pace". What am I even trying to say here help

I have no idea how to rate myself as a developer even lol. I never really study on my own time and usually just look things up if I need to find out new things. Usually just do enough to get the job done without breaking anything. Does that make me mediocre? I have worked with bad devs though. Guys who just seem to keep breaking stuff or keep checking in their stuff over other people's code. lol. And it's easy to tell that the guy is still getting paid a good amount.

Honestly this chest was wp by valve. I'm pretty sure with the amount of levels I got, I eclipsed what I would have gotten with Points alone.
