Keep in mind NA dota teams have to compete with EU teams to be relevant
the same is not the case in CS where you exclusively compete with your region outside of international LANs, and the NA fanbase is large enough to sustain local teams. Basically getting shit on at international lans isn't THAT relevant when u can just make money beating other NA players most of the time haha.
@others re scarlett: it suits my narrative for her to be the (un-qualified) "best" even if she isn't that serious atm and/or isn't currently the best.

I didn't miss it, actually it was precisely what I meant when i said "retired" 
And, yeah, now she isn't the best, but there was a time last year when no foreigner could contest her position, except maybe Nani when he was playing seriously and not bitching at some made up shit.

I bet that is because CS is easier to sell to NA sponsors and get more money in general. The whole "its like that CoD game that sells all those copies every year" has to be a good pitch for the non-gaming people.

TL almost had a top 2 na csgo team with hiko/ska/adren/nitro/somebody i forget exactly who but ska went for the money (and apparently didn't want to sign with liquid)

well no ska and hiko wouldve played with the 3 liquid ppl but they wouldnt want to sign to liquid (cuz i assume naz wouldnt want to afford them) and the 3 liquid ppl didnt want to leave the liquid organisation cuz apparently being an incredibly mediocre team is worth it if u are being paid ok its the LIQUID DREAM across many games amiright
