I think he feels his blatant and often harsh criticism of sc2/blizzard makes him more genuine than these personalities that come and go on blizzards whim to earn a paycheck to hype the game and tell everyone how perfect it is. Which apparently is his issue, that they're hired shills and do nothing to help make the game better.
Not that I agree with him or can't see some hypocrisy but I can see why he's salty I guess. He wants SC2 to be a better game which he believes cannot happen without Blizzard stepping in and making it better. Something Idra/incontrol/destiny argued about ad naseum in the sc2 days (community fixes vs blizzard).

People still overestimate how much of the lack of popularity from SC2 is Blizzards fault.

well the funny part is that the community fixed bw but blizz carefully made sure they couldn't do that for sc2 but i'm not sure i wanna have this discussion atm lol

That would be super extra stupid on a level I can't even start to talk about. Really if you are bad mouthing people on twitter/reddit as a professional, you have fucked up.

To be honest, someone needs to buy the IP for brood war from Blizzard and remake it with matchmaking

"as a professional"
the vast majority of people who make a living in esports are only "professionals" in the strictest sense of the word, i.e. they get paid. in terms of behavior they are almost all children.

Some popular sugestion could have made the game even less popular, even if a more competitive one.

Even if Blizzard listened to every community suggestion like skins, automated tournaments, clans, etc now the problem is that the core game is simply not entertaining often enough and frustrating to play, not satisfying compared to BW.

Even in BW and WC3. People tended to flock towards money maps/RPGs instead of playing the actual game.

AOE is too easy to use and too difficult to defend against
that's my biggest gripe with the game.

Sources inside Blizzard have indicated that if it were not for Plott and other notable figures’ relentless positivity as SC2’s viewership stagnated, the video game company would have fixed every single issue the community had with StarCraft 2.
StarCraft 2 fans have urged commentators and personalities to remain faithful and monogamous to their initially declared game (unless it’s Brood War) like a traditional marriage, rather than stray to multiple games, like regular sports or other interests in literally anything else.
I mean why bother discussing this shit ESEX already nailed it thx hotbid ily http://esportsexpress.com/2015/03/esports-express-announces-glorious-return-to-starcraft-2-for-lotv-beta/

I'm glad BW is not dead in Korea at least, SC2 currently bores me so much.

personally while I think sc2 gameplay itself needs some drastic improvements the thing that 'killed' sc2 was the shitty bnet 2.0 and arcade.
no good community features or UMS scene = deadest game on the global/casual/etc level that you need.

ok so apparently that 500k tournament in tacoma might be legit
who wants on my squad boys lets get paidddddd

I forgot to mention what popped into my head when I realized that the TL Hots team was all spanish www.liquiddota.com the last all-spanish moba team to make news

Totally agree. BW 2.0 plus skins might have made the hardcore BW fans happy, but would have been a commercial nightmare. SC2 didn’t sell that much and people still think of it as a hard game. If they had made it with 12 unit selection and all the other BW bullshit, it might have never taken off like it did.
