are the dota studios making less money and on the verge of bankruptcy or what? why are they all being so fucking whiny. People on the internet are
>mean >not respecting my work >being negative
who gives a fucking shit. you run a business, go put out an amazing product and stop pining for the validation of some internet flamers. when you do good shit, you get a good response, when you go emo woe is me on twitter about pointless shit, you are just making it worse.
LD has fallen into that trap too, a bunch of whiny excuses from admins about why X sucks and community should be nicer/do more/step it up wah wah.
Nobody owes anyone shit, but if you're trying to make money and sell something (product, site, whatever) fucking DO SOMETHING and let your work speak for itself.

This could be just my memory trolling me though. Nope, we are definitely loosely moderated, but our traffic is also at a much different level. Plus we have this silly thread to post in, and its hard to generate content for dota atm because our community is so awful!

TL also changed from terrible posts like the masturbation guide and (almost) naked women blogs to amazing discussion topics like political and women's rights debates.

@shaela and whomever else saw me bitch and moan about the networth changes..
http://www.liquiddota.com/forum/dota-2-general/481279-big-god-set-piece-battles
read the part where a full 5 man wipe when you're ahead is worth the same as one hero kill when you're behind.
that shit is ridiculous. arteezy was talking about it the other day too. so if you're in a pub and your idiot carry feeds the enemy, you're now not only down your highest net worth player, that retard was worth more than you killing the entire enemy team.

Comeback should be removed, if not removed don't base it off your team networth, but rather the particular hero.
We'll continually see 60+ min games with it still in place now that teams understand it better.

at the start of sc2 i think tl grew rapidly from around 300 concurrents (bw days) to about 1k concurrents. since it sits around 3-4k concurrents these days, its easy to see why moderation has to change somewhat as your userbase ends up multiplying itself by 10 disclaimer: numbers arent exact but u get the idea

that's actually not his position at all.
Not that I agree with Destiny but this is his point:
He isn't upset that Husky, Day9 etc., are coming back to cash in on LOTV, he's upset that they've never done anything to make SC2 a better game. They rarely if ever spoke negatively about obvious issues surrounding the game, constantly praised blizzard even though the majority of the professional scene had major issues with the game and more or less ditched SC2 when it inevitably became too shitty for anyone to care about. Something Destiny feels could have potentially been avoided if more BIG community members put the effort into improving the game itself instead of mindlessly praising blizzard. He feels that it's bullshit that they didn't participate in any meaningful discussion to improve the game and only come around when it's profitable for them to do so, where they will undoubtedly praise the game and call it perfect/best rts ever/etc etc., and tow the blizzard line.
Now, there are clearly faults in his position but it's not simply 'people coming back to make money, I'm mad'.
Destiny is like 80% goober retard monkey and 20% decent guy, but his point was a bit 'deeper' than being mad others are coming back for LOTV.

It's not just traffic. it looked like it was more about making a statement to new people.

mike is right, LD needs to stop bitching.

I've always been curious how closely tied Day9 and Blizzard are behind closed doors.

I don't wanna see it removed entirely bc I do think that something needed to be done about losing the laning phase but coming back after a flawless teamfight. I think there's a place for it.
but it's beginning to be unbearable in pubs bc it's based on the team's networth deficit.
I will say that the case for removing it is strong when you consider that two heroes with similar net worth are not necessarily as strong as each other...which punishes lineups that set out to win in the midgame (and traditionally counter a heavy late game lineup)

hmm i watched some vod of him crying and i didn't really get that vibe but maybe i still think it's pretty hypocritical etc.

Remember, this is the guy who wrote the blog about "dead game before HotS," started a fuck ton of drama and then peaced out to stream LoL. And he is just jelly that Blizzard will talk directly to people like Day9 and Husky because they are not giant children in a man's body.

ill bet you say the same thing when you lose ladder games and your team flames you
day9 and husky are definitely man-children, they just comport themselves more politically than destiny (i mean pol pot comported himself more politically than destiny but still)
