This is rather difficult to predict though and you be missing out on the build-up of the blades to avoid making the investment to an inferior item progression early on. If they're knocking on the door to your barracks with an Omni and/or Warlock it might be what turns the tide at that point of the game though. There's pretty much no pub games that you'll end faster by getting Diffusal over Radiance unless the game was pretty much already decided at the time you're making the decision.

Why would you want to end the game early if you're playing Spectre? That doesn't make sense.
If you winning why wait until later to win and not just win at that moment. I think people make the mistake of thinking because they have spec they can win late game regardless of the situation.
This, it seems teams are sometimes too comfortable with their carry. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, Infused played a game quite recently where Wagamama was pwning it up with Spectre HARD. His gold per minute was insane and the game felt over before any major clashes... and then they simply lost. Late game isn't simply decided by which team has the hardest carry.
Trying to force your way into a well defended base is probally the easiest way to lose an advantage. If you have a team composition that allows you to take it lategame, enjoy the fact you have all the map control you need and outfarm your oponent until you can simply brute force your way in. Isn't that exactly what mTw has been doing with quite a lot of sucess recently? They get a lot of shit for it sometimes, but the logic is sound and the results are there.
Just the fact you are winning doesn't mean you can win at that moment, it's like that in basically every game, not only Dota. Obviously If you are like 20k gold ahead it's another story, at that point basically anything you do works. You also can't take the carry hero and his farm alone as a way to see who has an advantage late game. Each game is diferent, saying you should always try to end early if you are winning is as wrong as saying you should always take it super lategame with a Spectre.

So, TL. We discussed what boots to get on Lion. Now for the eternal question, what do you get on your pudges? I sometimes go tranquil and sometime phase boots. Depends on how good my first few minutes went.
Tranquil when the ms advantage can grant you an early kill in mid, otherwise phase if you're still tempo-carrying after your initial laning. Arcane if you've had limited success laning and find yourself entering midgame too fragile and have to play a more cautious style.
But you can go tranquil AND urn, it's not like because you go tranquil you can't go urn. I personally don't like arcane because i find myself with too much mana, i don't feel pudge is mana intensive enough.
I like tranquil because the constant 80 movespeed when you're running between lanes to gank and stuff, it just helps a ton.
Boots of speed into bottle urn into travels =D. I like to tp around and gank a lot to catch them off guard. Make for pretty fast travels which then save me as much money as they cost. If I seriously can't get them I obviously am dying too much and will actually get treads for the life.
Corr basically has it the same as me. Phase 90% of the time. If I'm doing bad then most likely arcanes. Even though then I still sometimes just go phase.
hmm... practice the shit outa enchan recently but sadly pubs cant really handle how awesome the hero is... No matter how much kill you earn, how many towers you claim, pubs just cant really watch the mini map and learn space control and read missing correctly. If they can do that somehow, they cant last hit.... Or just having a really shitty hero...
TLDR: enchan isnt a pub stomp hero if you are alone.
I have been winning a lot in DotA2 recently into the point that im now bored... really need to join an IH league, not sure if i have enough commitment though.
