The obvious answer is to hold onto that 499.99 steam wallet credit and do nothing
When in doubt, just believe in yourself and press buttons

even if tryharding has no effect on winning its the perception that ur more likely to win that would be more enjoyable

Not exactly, since for the vast majority of the playerbase, tryharding doesnt result in any meaningfull change in your winrate.

i random every game with ~50% winrate
i can pick 70% winrate heros every game
how would that not be a meaningful difference?

u'd win 20 games then u'd be randoming for 30% winrate heroes and picking for 50% ones. No meaningful change.

MMR =/= Winrate

But since we can't know how much customization Valve will permit for both Arcanas and normal sets, it's pretty much a vicious cycle.

Even Superior Moba lowered the price on their older skins because the quality went up over time.

If you random everygame you are not tryharding. Your winrante is also slightly lower when you random than it would be if you didnt tryhard ocasionally. If you always random, you have ~.5 winrate. If you always tryhard, you have around .5 winrate. If you always random, but start tryharding, you will se a sudden increase, but its not meaningfull in the grand scheme of things, and if you stop tryharding it drops.

Of course there is a lot of other stuff involved, but the diferent shouldnt be more than a few games every hundred games. Which isnt meaningfull I would say.

Yo techies up to 42% winrate.

That's pretty good for a new hero already.

But i have 0% fun with that hero is in the game, win or lose.

Also, the term tryhard is a pejorative(generally). Its not a good thing to be a try hard, because it encompasses the worst aspects of caring about winning, while reflecting none of the good aspects. Its a front and a facade put on by someone who is attempt to appear "hard core" about dota. It doesn't have a lot to do with how well you play.

There is no better term to use, and its not even pejorative in most contexts. Most people considering using tryhard as an insult funny, because its dumb. Its the easier way to diferentiate these two playstyles in just a few words.

Tryhard is an insult or complement depending on what you define tryhard as. Unless there is some single definitive meaning of tryhard I don't know about.

Tryharding is when, after a losing streak, you think ´shit, what can I do next game to guaratee a win´, and do it. Some people do that every game. Its not necessarily bad, its also very subjective, but when you are talking about people doing something that increses their winrate to 70 percent, I cant think of an easier way to describe it than they started tryharding.

Outside of gaming it is used as at term for fake or who puts on a front. Like someone who shows up to a concert with the bands t-shirt on. In the local music scene in this area people often use it to describe musicians with way to much equipment they don't know how to use.

Outside of gaming you don't want to be called one.

Ok, if you show up to see a band, don't wear a shirt with the band's name on it. You don't need to show you are a fan, you are going to their show. Its is one of the faux pas of going to rock concerts. Also, never buy beer at the venue, always drink before hand at home or in the parking lot.

Also never go to a sports stadium wearing the teams shirt. You dont need to be a douchy tryhard, if you are there, you are obviously a fan.

Hey if you want to go to a 1 Direction show and wear the band's T-shirt, go right ahead. Feel free to be that guy. Maybe you meet Targe there.
