The guy insist he's "the" Chu, but is he The Chu ? I was such a fanboy, going everyday on his replay thread hoping he would release a new one.
edit : missed the long description at bottom, it seems it is =)

I understand that you get angry about things, that isn't different for me. But why go out of your way to trashtalk and flame without provocation? Gotta keep those fingers warm while waiting for respawn ![]() MatchID: 21099507, towards the end Riki was flaming me the whole game for being noob and all, then when we crack the enemy base he begins to flame them. o.O Edit: And that's not uncommon, every game I'm in there are people raging everywhere it seems, way worse than ~1 week ago. I think it's an unfortunate side effect of a team-based game that isn't easy to jump in and out of. If someone is doing badly or their team's doing badly in a regular pubgame in something like an FPS, they can just hop off the server and go on with their day. In a game like Dota they're stuck in that game until it ends unless they want to eat the abandon, so they're likely to take out their frustration on other people It's a really unfortunate effect of the genre, but this kind of BM is around in SC2, CS, etc. It's become a part of gaming, for better or for worse. It's just up to us as a community to try and not be dickish as compared to how some bad apples can be. Well yeah, it's true for everywhere. Some people just want to be assholes. But I honestly think it's magnified in this genre. This is just personal experience, but I've been treated worse while playing HoN or Dota 2 than I've ever been while playing anything else. This is a game where matches last on average 30-40 minutes and rely heavily on team coordination and communication and where an individual can ruin the game for his other 4 teammates, and in byproduct for the other 5 players on the other team. It is also a game where it is very overwhelming to get into, very difficult to get into, has a skillset that dignifies the concept and phrase "not for everyone", and this individual skill required is necessary for the aforementioned team coordination to be successful because, as said previously, a single person can ruin everything. It's not hard to put 2 and 2 together to see why people get angry at people. This man is correct. Competitive PvP = Maddening Teamwork with riffraff = Maddening Astronomical learning curve = Maddening 1 player can lose the game = Maddening ~40 minute game stuck in circumstances = Maddening Anonymity of internet = Maddening It's basically a powder keg of bad things. People either learn to have thick skin or they quit. People figure if they put in their time in the pressure cooker learning the game and took all their lumps getting bitched out you better be able to too or you're in the wrong neighborhood. Just learn to take things with a grain of salt and put some armor on. It's not going to get any kinder and gentler so it sort of is what it is. Mute works if you don't want to hear it, though its much more fun to mess with them. Nothing like some kid crying over something, then point out every single awful thought he's had, skill builds, item builds, awful record, you're doing it wrong. Suddenly the crybaby mutes you because I guess his feelings got hurt by the truth. Most people can't take it as good as they give it. You can shut them up in a hurry. Is that throwing gas on the proverbial fire? Probably, but if someone wants to start being a dick you may as well get your entertainment value out of it IMO. Plus, you never know, maybe they'll learn a thing or two!

This is a confusing post. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of Chu and we aren't korean buddies or anything but he has actually won against players who've gone on to do big things in dota which I'm sure you know. Not to mention he's one of the best people to point to in order to show that decent competitive dota players usually dominate in hon and league of legends. He was among the best in Hon and after raping league of legends ladder he quit cuz it was such a garbage game. Anyway, the confusing part is that you get a lot of shoutouts and are friends with north american dota players who also fall into the ' too much ego ' department. In fact, north america is probably the region of the world suffering the most from too much ego, even though the talent has almost always been there to field an awesome national team.

I instantly thought this after reading his post, there is a glaring example of this who is much worse than Chu and has a bigger ego.

I'm friends with several EG players, but they thought that a week of bootcamping could make up for months of playing with ringers and slacking off. Frankly they should've lost to AL if not for AL's extremely underwhelming performance. Players who rely on talent and experience alone no longer win big Dota tournaments, it's almost always the teams that are working their asses off nowadays. I haven't seen Chu willing to practice with a team like that in a long time, and I doubt that will change.

Whenever I chanced upon Demon's stream he'd be randomly pubstomping and screwing around. Na'Vi although not as bad admitted that they were also slacking off until their bootcamp. Meanwhile mTw has stopped streaming and entirely focused on practice and scrims with a stable lineup, and it really shows.

Well I care indeed as I asked. He was a really entertaining player and I watched some of his replays 15 times haha. He had an awesome meepo and really good overall micro, I just wondered if he was the same guy. Too bad his replay thread on playdota no longer exist, it contained hours of entertainment =) It's awesome if it's him and he's back in dota 2 But I guess he's old like me now, this was what...6 years ago perhaps.
