I've heard rumours about CRT being better than today's flat screen monitors for gaming, can someone summarise why this is so? Just refresh rate? I find it hard to believe that the refresh rate of CRTs is that big of an advantage.

it's response time not refresh rate, refresh rate is how many images can be displayed per second and reponse time is how long it takes for images to get displayed on the screen

crt monitors have faster response times and can display any resolution
the resolution thing is nice but really there's not much of a difference between crts and modern lcds

well, if you've ever played CS at 100 or 120hz it definitely is different than playing at 60 or even 75. I had early LCDs in my house but personally kept using a CRT up until 2010; with most of that being dual with a main 19" CRT and various larger, wide screen LCDs which I used for movies and TV shows. To this day, I cannot play 1.6 on an LCD.

one of the biggest advantages of the CRT technology over LCD tech. is that scaling is much better with CRTs. If you don't play at the native resolution of the LCD, the game is going to look bad. But if your PC is kind of old, you're not going to get 100 fps at 1920x1080. And, again relating back to the years I played CS, I played at 640x480 up until the end when I had a DX11 card and a quad core processor. Try running that res on a LCD; it's horrific.

of less practical implication is that it took a while for LCD panels (even ips screens) to really reach the level where they could be considered color reference monitors. that problem has mostly worked itself out, however.

it's a nice thing to do for the gamers, IMO. but not really necessary these days.

I'm bringing Alchemist back. Match Id is 20802339. If it allows you to download the replay do it. Maybe one of my favorite games. This was a AL2 game.

Keep in mind that PA can get royally screwed over when it comes to stuns and any form of CC. So, having bkb is quite handy, it adds some damage and survivalability. I would go it after some of the main weapons, but it is still useful nonetheless.

Because with a bkb you can avoid stuns and cc so theyl keep trying to kill you at 10% with autoattacks

in which case you will crit them and lifesteal your way to a rampage.
