Well, the cost from Eul's+Drums is pretty similar to that of Bloodstone. Some games the mobility and utility from E+D is better, other games you'd rather have the superior bulk, sustain and snowballiness from Bloodstone.
Honestly I think a lot of it is just simplicity. Bloodstone is decent so we go Bloodstone. Just like how on Antimage, you get Battlefury because Antimage gets Battlefury. There are times to get other things, but many/most players, unless there's something spelling out that it's time to do something else, will just follow the standard builds.
i dont think the comparison with battlefury on am is adequate.
@acritter: TTs position was very good in the game...so yes he can get away with it. but its not just the bloodstone. after that he bought a casual ultimate orb and a casual vitality booster just to buy a bkb immediately afterwards. seemed very strange to me..

Farmed as fuck, thats what I thought. I don't think its a good idea to go BS in a close game where you might need the euls to save your ass.

Also, upheaval is the real deal.
i really dislike his guides, he always trys to do something slightly different from what is considered normal. The reason is only to make videos about it, if you actually check his dotabuff he plays a hero normal for a lot of games, and his last 5 games with the hero he does something different so he can make his shitty video.

Bloodstone after Eul's+Drums in this case. That's the build in question.
Antimage and Battlefury is... a little different. Spectre Radiance might be a better comparison.
Oooh. My bad. Eh, might depend on the damage composition you're facing? Maybe they want more bulk and more sustain, and none of Shiva/Scythe/Heart really do that. Shiva has no health, Heart has no mana and Scythe doesn't really have much health and can be a bit harder to farm. I don't know, I guess. I think of it as a choice between Bloodstone and E+D. Get one of those two and go into Shiva/Scythe.
Casual Vit is a very standard thing to do on many heroes. It's a lot of health for the gold cost. It came after the BKB, anyway. The casual Ultimate Orb was pretty obviously a move towards Scythe, but he delayed it once he realized he absofuckinglutely needed a BKB that game to handle the damage and control from Invoker and Skywrath (and, to a slightly lesser degree, the other three heroes).

Eh, I might try it one way or the other. I'm pretty sure it's about the timing of the item, really. Nothing else gives you as much security, mobility, and regen as those three items at that stage in the game. This patch does seem to be a lot about timings over idealistic optimization.

some sort of butthurt between him and tobi i guess
because Tobi does screwed up stuff behind the scenes and matts still salty about getting rekt by ongamers being a silly ass org that ran its entire business plan off of reddit. I guess.

Tobi just revealed on stream that he's not actually a cyborg, but a full-on robot. He was never human at all, and his name wasn't even Matt. Reddit is on fire. 4chan has burned to the ground. Riot's in every major city on Earth. They're trying to get people to play League. Oh, it was chaos. Pure chaos.

he should have noticed that earlier thou
Probably. Shit happens. Changing gameplan has nothing to do with the very deliberate Bloodstone pickup, though.

I like some of his guides (I liked hte spectre guide, the SM had some good points as well), but jesus that morph guide was abysmal and RIP to me if my team ever picks morph (LOL JK IM GOING TO PICK IT BEFORE HIM).
Matt gets one of the girls that Tobi's always linking on his twitter to cosplay Drow. He also buys a big rubber ball. At the next event, Matt hides in the ball and the girl goes and baits. When Tobi comes out to awkwardly hug her, Matt rolls out, pops out of the ball in full Tusk costume and delivers the Walrus Punch.
