I understand it's all personal preference but I just can't see people playing any other MOBA then DotA 2. The name, company behind it, millions worth tournaments like Internationals, and everything we saw in Beta... just says DotA 2 is game to play.
(I play all 3 games currently)
For HoN it's was already just a question of time, for LoL I have no idea. I think they cater different people.

you don't understand why people play games other than dota2. yet you play all the dota2 competitors. ok
Sorry, I wrongly put that one... I played all 3 (DotA 2 since first Internationals, HoN since early Beta and LoL since recently (few months only)) BUT now when they released info how DotA 2 will be completly free, with all champions unlocked and even shop items dropping after games/Battle Level-ups I just can't see myself sticking to LoL/HoN anymore. I mean... for fucks sake they even give you shop items after Battle Level-up and there's chance of item dropping after every game, and those items are almost their only direct income from DotA 2. Freakin' respect! <3
But as I said, it's just thinking out loud more then asking question... I already answered to myself: "it's personal preference and choice" but somehow... DotA 2 will offer so MUCH more and Valve is behind it, I guess I just wish all MOBA players gather under ONE game. Etc...
Don't mind me, I am just very tired after all night of MLG lol. :D
and those items are almost their only direct income from DotA 2
I am not even sure about this, i would rather say that their main income is steam sells and having many users play dota2, will also mean more people that potentially buy other games on steam.
no... the concept are pretty much the same and there are a few spots that you could do in dota1 and cant do in dota2. Dont over use the word 'overpower' if you dont really know what it means.
About the LoL thing: LoL has secured itself with a very different market compare to dota/dota2. If dota2 is more about EU and China as well as SEA, LoL has pretty much the entire NA player based and expanding to mainstream media in Korea. As long as riot doesnt fuck up something that make their players abandon the game, the market is secured just like facebook securing their users over google+. HoN is dead and should not be counted in the equation.

Their main income from DOTA2 will be from the keys on the store, just like TF2.
IMO dota 2 is a way better spectator sport and way more fun to play, but the whole game is about macro. The guys with the highest skill cap are guys like chen who could constantly be pulling something or somehow better maximizing their farm. And everyone has to be looking at all lanes at all times in case they have to tp in.
In LoL there's just more little things that every move does in general, so the micro in lanes gets pretty damn complicated...but it is absolutely impossible to diverge from the macro of 1-1-2 boring farming lanes. Some pro players completely forget that the other two lanes exist until 20 minutes into the game, and by that time both teams usually agree that the game is already over based on pics and farm. Honestly I've watched 30 or 40 pro games of LoL and can count on one hand the number of times that a team has recovered from being more than 2 kills behind.

LoL caters to casuals more than DotA does. Like DotA is quake and LoL is CoD.

You should realize how disgustingly much they earned on selling items in the store in TF2. DotA2 will be a gold-mine.
Valve themselves said that they earned 12 times more by having the store there than any of their monthly sales.
You can also give yourself wards by typing "-item item_wards", copy that to clipboard for maximum wardage :D
I also used to stress test my PC by spamming -spawncreeps like 100 times, waiting some time(they block like crazy) and doing an echo slam on them xD Whole screen goes white
Does anyone knows how to change de speed of the camera scrolling while putting the cursor near the edge of the screen ? I tried to find it in the options but I fail
