basically, people didn't see morted's sexy model after getting blur so they decided to make it visible if there are no enemies around, but that had the effect of you knowing exactly when there are enemies around

No, the transparency is 80% in dota1 now and it's just bluring in dota2 so you don't spot her this way. You can sneak u on people sometimes but it's a nonfactor most of the time

Yeah, back in WC3 her shadow was all that could be seen.
I remember back when I first played DotA with my friends and their PC couldn't run DotA in full graphics so they turned of shadows and they couldn't see her at all!

Played around with Gyrocopter a bit on test, that guy is a lot of fun! He seems to have a ton of team fight damage with his Q and E. The big problem is that he needs to be in the middle of the fight spamming Q and surviving for a long time and he is kind of squishy. What are your opinions for core items on him? Here are my thought. Treads/mana boots (not sure which works better, imo treads with efficient swapping is better). Ring of aquila, wand, mek. It seems like he still has mana problems, even with efficient tread swapping.

My other thought was treads, perserverance, wand, mek, finish linkens.

After completing the core then going straight +damage should be great.

They have two completely different designs with two completely different tasks in games.
So how exactly can one have a better design if their goal is two different designs? It's like saying AM has a better design than CM, really doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

As already mentioned, it's so incredibly rare for Gyro to be first position and there are more effecient heroes for that spot.
From the Ghastly Eyrie I can see to the ends of the world, and from this vantage point I declare with utter certainty that this one is in the bag!

Treads, wand -> 5 rapiers + boots of travel.

Why would you buy Mek on him if he has mana problems? You generally try to put Mek on a hero with smooth enough mana management to support using Mek in a teamfight alongside their other abilities.

Linken's is also somewhat ill-suited for him. Gyro has an absolutely fantastic ganking skillset--and you buy a farming item? You want to gear his itemization toward his fantastic early-game ganking and midgame teamfighting. If you get to farm a lane, you want to try and push out Aghanim's to establish your global presence. If you're playing as more of a roaming ganker, or don't get enough farm to get Aghanim's out that fast, then Urn augments your early ganking ability, and Ghost Scepter and Janggo are great for boosting your midgame teamfighting power.
