They definitely should look at the group stage format again next year, I think it can be made better. I am also a bit biased because of liquid but putting that aside the main event has been kinda meh. Maybe it is the stompy way some of these push strats feel from VG and LGD. Call me crazy but I'd rather have a 65 minute game or even rat dota instead | ||

Meta wise these wards push has been all over dota1 since 2007-2008. Abusing ward spell immune feature to sieg and fast push is not impossible to stop but teams made too many mistakes as a lot of them are young and inexperience. Analysis like maelk and merlini could easily disect the draft strengths and weaknesses down to few seconds cooldown timing on an ulti that help a team push tower. Younger teams played greedily while older team made execution mistakes, the chinese teams who have a well mixed of experienced players and young talents came out on top made a lot more sense than Navi making it to the final despite xboct feeding the entire year. Im just quite sad for C9. Their game 2 with doom and meepo was beautifully executed and if they didnt gave in for a greedy level 1 rosh, i think they could have made it much further in. Pretty much quite similar to Titan lose: self defeating. If anything, this year TI is quite similar to last year: there is 1 meta that is ahead of every other teams and VG/newbee managed to play it better just like how [A] played their style better. Last year I think Orange Tongfu played better than both Navi and [A], Navi even played way better than [A] in that last game too. But shit happened... | ||

It's also to do with the execution from the teams. Their precision when to fight and when to be aggressive is just on another level. VG and NB just know when they can take it to the enemy and they take full advantage of it. And sorry but rice fests and split push need this to exist so that we don't get the 50 minute no rush games where teams literally don't cross the river at all. The aggression is amazing and I hope we get even more heroes who can execute it in the future. | ||

This has been the TI of tunnel vision drafting for sure. I haven't seen a KotL against any of these push strats, or PL or any of the other heroes we saw just a month ago. But maybe tomorrow will surprise me. I have also come to the strong opinion that it is BS that you can use items while smoked. Being able to blink and not break smoke is just silly. I think smoke needs to be a little easier to break since there are only two ways in the game it get revealed and one of them doesn't move. | ||
