The hype was nearly not as high as it should have been imo. I think they wanted a lot of elimination matches early but in the end it seems like "lot of not so important matches" during the beginning of phase 1, then "important matches" at the end of phase 1. Then again just some seeding bo3 during bubble phase outside of first ones. A break, hype diminishing for winners semis and final. And just now some loser bracket matches who seem rather unimportant compared to winners semis so not so hyped again. The timing of high importance matches and not so much ones has lessen the hype compared to a simple tree with rising stakes. | ||

If Riot stopped supporting LoL with the LCS (and its variations), what else is there? Practically nothing. If Dota stopped The International, we'd have MLG, Dreamhack, Starladder, D2L, ECL, KDL, D2CL, G-League, WPC etc, with many of these tournaments allowing both the West and the East to play against each other. Another reason the ticketing system is so awesome, where these Tournaments can make revenue from allowing people to watch their matches in-client (and despite some of the bigger tournaments allowing their matches to be viewed for free and selling compendiums and still making bank). | ||

And the game is 4-5 times larger today than it was at TI2. There will be more TI's. | ||
