I'm afraid that it may happen, but I desperately don't want Fnatic's inability to practice or any kind of relapse from Era to interfere with their performance at TI4.

But they can't really say anything useful because their argument was with Valve and we know exactly what information they gave to Valve already.. Anyway, I got a 6pack and am waiting anxiously. This is more exciting than watching a movie or some shit.

I aint saying their article was good, I agreed with teapot way back when it was leaving something out clearly. But from fnatic's perspective they got permission and now it is "oh too late we said era decides but now we decide" Yes they worked it out with a teenager that previously emailed valve saying the team fired him. Also a teen ager that is being treated for mental issues. I'm sure that was a really balanced discussion.

You're given an ultimatum to play with Era or not at all and H4nn1 clearly stated that they'll play with him, so I really doubt Valve's stance on the matter is going to change. Why beat a dead horse?

Although writing a press release in 2 hours on a Friday night in answer to a bunch of email logs might do them more damage.

I'm sure that was a really balanced discussion. A teenager who was told "You and you alone have the final and absolute vote" by valve. And who had his parents in the room/call/whatever. I mean obviously era is torn up about this shit. He wants his team to do well more than any other person around. He doesn't want to hold them back. But its TI, and he'd do anything to participate. I'm sure he agonized over this. Shit I wasn't gonna say anything more about this dumb situation.

And why do you think nar choose navi? Because eg offered them a deal with only a cut of the prizepool as a one tourney deal, rather than the sponsorship they give their main team. Liquid doesn't take a cut, EG doesn't take a cut from their main team, Navi doesn't take a cut, alliance doesn't take a cut. I can't think of a single western sponsor who takes a cut of players winnings that is held as one of the top organizations to play for. Sponsors who do that tend to get their teams or players poached by the teams I just mentioned. Era was fine for most of the summer, fnatic had just kicked him because they thought that excalibur gave them a better shot at winning based on talent. i cant believe how dumb you are. Arstyle left navi cuz he didnt want to give them a cut of his winnings but suuuuure keep arguing like you had any idea

It doesn't make the team bad or good, it's just part of the business plan and incentive for running a team. And Na'Vi most certainly did at TI1. Although we don't know if they still do.

At least we got a quick response from Valve this time, probably the first time I've seen them respond to something this quickly.

Because he's not bad by any means. But it's also quite rare for him to really stand out. He's just sort of invisible. He "plays his role" as they say. He makes some questionable item decisions, but so does the rest of Fnatic, so that's not weird either. The closest comparison to him is probably Loda. But I think Loda tends to get a lot more done for his team generally. And at the same time to counter-balance that has more failures.

I dunno, I think as far as carries goes, he usually makes pretty decent decisions (IE, when hanni is busy building a skadi on qopi, he realizes his team actually needs an orchid on his naix).

H4nn1 easily is the most recognizable player when it comes to questionable item decisions.

When it comes to Loda's individual failures I can really think of his Lodaspheres (he hasn't even touched Void in years right?) and Lycan play. Remember that time during the end of EE era when Loda built MoM on every carry, and lost a huge amount of games for his team? Because I remember. I always remember.

was Fnatic management aware that Era contacted Valve to tell them he could play ? Did they learn that through Valve's statement ?

Loda plays extremely aggressively when he can afford to do so. I think if you compare like Loda and Xboct. They might have as many stupid deaths, but Loda's rarely lost them games, Xboct's lost them several. I think Loda is the best 'carry player' (as in, he plays his role how it needs to be played for that specific game, not the flashiest, not the best mechanics). But I had to include an insult to his play because otherwise I'd be crucified for saying that on TL.
