Truly good players will have at least 55% or higher if they don't always stack, and that's just a fact (look at the list of pro players on DB). But that doesn't mean having 50% or less makes you bad. Same as having 70%, it doesn't mean you're a progamer. I have a K-god SF win rate on my smurf, u sayin im no programer?

We regret to announce that we have decided to remove Steven 'Korok' Ashworth from our DotA 2 roster with immediate effect. We will be looking for a new DotA 2 player to secure our attendance at MLG Columbus. A statement will follow in the next few minutes. "With Korok busy with school and regrettably missing the trip to Korea, he will be leaving the team. He's still a prolific player and I'll miss him as a person, but unforunately he will no longer be part of the team and I wish him the best of luck in whatever he pursues in the future." http://www.team-dignitas.net/articles/news/DotA-2/4193/Korok-removed-from-Team-Dignitas-DotA-2/[

Yeah true, but it depends on the MM system the game is running though. - If the game uses system, where it tries to guess your MMR after games and match you with people that are higher than your rank, then sure. If you're plat and have sub-50% against diamond players, then you're still better than a plat that have over 50% winrate against gold players. - If the system matchs you with people at your rank, then there's nothing to be proud of that sub-50% winrate.

There's just too many factors involved, and that's why Firebolt is right in that winrate doesn't matter much on its own. But in certain situations it can matter a bit, although there are still too many variables.

-edit- whoa. That seems like an insane requirement. I wonder how many people are above 55%, in very high, and affiliated with TL. It seems like TLIH's have a hard enough time getting a game going with the requirements being "sign up for it".

There is no skill prerequirement. There has never been a winrate prerequirement.
