All of those point to her being the complete support package not a carry lol (except maybe mirror image but you can use that to stack 4 camps at once like a dutiful support ).
Actually, that sounds incredibly next level. Vs an abandoned offlane, level mirror image at 1 and literally stack the ENTIRE jungle. You'd probably need some help on the control front since hitting all 4 stacks yourself requires some fast micro but still.

Naga is one of the most obnoxious heroes to exist in DotA

Only if the guy who is playing carry Naga is good, otherwise she is no problem at all.

...no I'm not just saying that because she's one of my best heroes. >_> Because carry Naga > support Naga. I was so happy to see Naga picked so much at TI3 but I was so sad it was as a support. Those swords are made for cutting up the other team damn it! Built-in Manta, BKB-piercing way to stop escapees, AoE nuke/-armor and a built-in initiation/escape mechanism. She's the complete carry package! D: she was picked up a couple times as a carry. She did absolutely NOTHING. She simply does almost nothing with farm except for push harder.

sounds like a perfect support to me except for the manta part.

Her only "support" skill is net. The rest gets better with more levels and farm which support Naga won't get. You need a good player to play her otherwise it won't work.

mirror image is her only non-support spell. Every other spell works just as well for other heroes as it does for her. So why not put a hero with decent carry potential in the number one or two slot instead of her when she can give them 75% of what she would already get. Explain to me how she needs farm for anything but mirror image? she peaks at level 9.

Wut, have you ever seen the difference between level 1 song of the siren and level 3 ? It's quite huge tbh. Riptide is not a support skill since if you try to walk in and cast it as support you are most likely to die. This won't happen if you actually have some items.
She is as strong as AM as carry and probably even better since you can push 3 lanes at the same time, but I understand why people don't play her as carry since it's quite hard to play. Better to use Naix or Alchemist .
edit: And no, she doens't peak at level 9 wtf.

B) run your images in to get riptide damage/debuff, no reason to risk your hero. Works fine as a support. If you die trying to get riptide in as a support its likely because you are awful. C) She isn't in the same league as AM in terms of carrying and her ability to pressure multiple lanes concurrently is pretty limited by the mobility of her illusions.
If you've never played the hero I'd recommend avoiding serious discussion of her playstyles.
E: re: peaking: Yeah its probably 10 not 9. Although 11 is nice for the CD. After 11 its pretty much just stats that she gains which mostly keep her alive so aren't terribly relevant in the grand scheme of things.

At the same time as her damage output from Rip Tide and right-clicks is going down, the relevance of Song goes up (because the later you go in the game, the more a single teamfight matters). Meanwhile, net stays roughly the same and her illusions go a little up for the same reason Song goes up.

A) 180 sec cooldown. 60 seconds cooldown. You'll never get the 60 second cooldown with Naga support. If you can't notice the difference then I'm sorry for you B) You won't get mirror image for a long time if you play support Naga and even if you get 1 point early your illusion will get killed as fast as your hero C)You are right, she can probably carry harder, and no, she can pressure at least two lanes simultaneously and farm the woods/third lane at the same time
If you never played the hero I'd recommend avoiding serious discussions of her playstyles.

If naga could pool her experience gain to another hero after she hit level 11, nine times out of ten it would be the right thing to do. Only if you knew it was gonna go long and that she would hit 16 (and that other heroes would hit 25 anyway) is it worth it for her to get XP over most allies.
Its not about "becoming less useful" its about "When are my abilities as useful as they will ever get?" and for naga thats about level 11 realistically. Level 16 is ridiculously huge but 12-15 are mega-irrelevant. The point is that at level 10 her teamfight impact comes to an abrupt halt in terms of "getting better" and she proceeds to contribute EXACTLY AS MUCH for the rest of the game barring item acquisitions.
This isn't unique to naga, many support heroes are like this (although often level 16 is a bigger deal than it is for naga).

I see what you mean, but given the experience gain of supports, her 12-16 is going to be maybe 20-22 for the hard carry. That is to say, fairly irrelevant. Games are not won and lost over 20-odd stat points 40 minutes in, but they can be over level 16 Song.

Has anyone actually tried playing naga support here? It's so fun, especially if you get blink.

naga is probably as good as pl as a #1 but since alliance raped face with her as support, she only sees play as support

^ This, holy fuck. Is it so hard to understand ? [A] won TI3 with Naga support while most of the other teams failed with it, now everybody jumped and the bandwagon but that doesn't mean it's good. Same old story with Alchemist support and Gyrocopter support.
