Would it be okay if Rubick had an Aghs upgrade for Spell Steal? I love the hero so much and sometimes I wanna do something more with him mid game. You're already stomping if you have enough money for agh in the midgame as 4/5 rubick. lmao For fun! Also, I suck at blink positioning but am pretty good at surviving and keeping away to get those bigger ults so sometimes I just go euls + ghost scepter if we're pretty much winning.

It's just useless. All it does is turn any stolen ult into its Aghs form regardless of whether the initial caster has Aghs.
I'd like to see it changed to something actually GOOD so we could potentially see solo mid Rubick as an option again. The hero's amazing to watch and can do with all the love Icefrog chooses to give it.

You won't see Rubick mid again in serious games just because he got an Aghs upgrade...
...unless it instagibs every opponent and creep on the map or something.

rubick mid is still viable

Why did Rubick mid fall out of meta?
|
cuz heroes like tidehunter didnt get picked anymore, therefore blink/forcestaff to get the right spells and positioning wasnt that important anymore so a support rubick could basically do whatever a mid rubick could do. its not that rubick isnt viable itself, its just not very fitting in the meta right now (even tho meta is shifting right now)

If I recall correctly he received some nerfs to move speed and Fade Bolt and in addition the big ultimate heroes like Tidehunter and Enigma fell out of flavour I suppose. I'm not sure if there's any more into it.

Rubick is by far one of the most fun heroes to play and watch regardless of how many items he has. Doesn't really need mid all that badly, perfectly viable as a support. Other day a low health Necro tried to ult/dagon 5 me to death as 5th position Rubick (I had boots, wand and wards I think). He misjudged his mana and didn't have enough for a dagon blast.
Instant spellsteal, return the ult, he exploded.

When Rubick mid was a thing back in TI2 there was a lot of big ultis to steal. So having a farmed Rubick could turn the fights into their favour. Now heroes like Tide, Enigma, even Magnus doesn't see much play anymore.
Also most current midheroes are pretty carry-oriented. Like SF, OD, Razor, Storm, Dragon Knight etc
Rubick doesn't scale well enough into the lategame to pick him mid when there aren't enough big ultis to steal.
|
Who's the best support to pick of your team went jug, PA, Gyro, Sniper??? It was pretty frustrating.

Boom, he's now a solo mid again.
Side note: is the game bugged so that neutrals can't miss uphill? Just watched a game where a jungle Lone Druid was killing the Radiant easy camp from the high ground just to the east, and the poison gnome things were hitting all their uphill attacks on him.

One might speculate, however, that with this whole ET/Medusa thing going on coupled with how Naga is seen as a solid support now it might possibly be enough to start swaying him back towards a more farmed role.

Naga ult is incredibly hard to steal unless she fucks up massively. Ult into split means that you can't steal from her. Tide, Magnus, Enigma are all really easy to steal from, Tide especially so if you can get a Blink. Medusa ult is only good because of how tanky Medusa is, and ET ult is bad. It's Natural Order that's good.

Pick CM, go in the offlane with the jug and pray they don't trilane you. If they don't, you can probably dominate their duo.

Support Naga is not that great imho.

Support naga is amazing. Is there another hero in the game that punishes people for using bkb?

Naga has a 5-second partial disable that goes through BKB, an armor-reduction high-damage AOE nuke with a 10 second cooldown, an ability that summons three moving Observer Wards, and an ult that lets you start and stop teamfights whenever you please. The only thing she lacks is harass potential.
How exactly is she not amazing?

That said naga's broke as fuck.
