I have been having real luck in my games with everyone except for Storm Spirit. For some reason I cannot get him off the ground and to the sweet spot in farming. I constantly run out of mana or just do not do enough damage. What is a good, standard item progression people like for him through a match? I can’t really find a guide that doesn’t just tell me to buy Bloodstone every game. I know Bloodstone is good for SS, but if I am having trouble farming early, I don't think I will get it fast enough. This is just my opinion on storm. You dominate melee heroes so hard but you're practically stuck on your lane until level 6 as storm. Storm synergizes well with Orchid and to be frank Bloodstone is greedy as fuck of an item to build into. Linkin Sphere is actually quite nice as well on Storm. Anything that helps Storm's regen honestly. So I would say if you want a standard build, Orchid is your first priority core. In terms of playstyle well, Storm isn't a farmer. Your success is reliant on how active you are around the map imo. Storm is really dangerous at level 6 obviously for his mobility and it gives him almost total rune control. Level 6 Storm should almost always contest runes! If your fighting QoP, Puck, TA or whatever standard range hero mid, play passively. You can't afford to die before level 6 and Storms rune control sucks until 6. Be careful as well, QoP has really good killing potential to make it rough for you. So I would say getting to level 6 is your priority. The reason why a lot of guides opts to rush Bloodstone is that they're greedy and they believe Storm can't die once he has ulti up. Say your stomping the game and you see no real way for them to kill you (aka lacks lockdown) than by all means go bloodstone. If you're not and the enemy team has effective lockdown, Orchid and careful pickoffs is key. Storms ulti DOES give him good survivability. If you're really behind and didn't have a good game, Storm is really rough to play catch up with. You want to at least make sure you have a presence throughout the mid game.

It seems that Korea definitely has learned from TI3, and still are willing to play newer heroes on top of that. In the Starter League there were several strategies which was a team (don't remember which) that basically just ran exact Alliance picks for at least 1 game. It's not like none of them watch competitive Dota.

Yeah, I am going to work on my creep blocking and other mechanical stuff for mid so I can do it every time without a mistake. Getting that early farm seems the best way to stay rich and get those early items. I also need to work on my Puck, but that is an easier challenge.
