I'm horrible with SF... So depressing to see. He can't be that hard can he? I'm 0-3 with him just today. Though could be my team as well.

Yeah but I sorta lost mid... to Storm, Skywrath, and Krobelus today. So I got flamed hard... I'm suppose to be winning these matchups?

Those aren't the easiest matchups, especially against skywrath if he plays it correct. But yeah they are all winnable.

I'd say that you can: Even with SM win against SS win against DP
given the same skill level, if the SM is good, winning the lane is almost imposible, but by lvl 3-4-5 you can start getting even lasthits and outfarm/outpush him, but he's gonna harras the shit out of you in the 1s lvls.
Storm depends on how he builds it, and your positioning, you can lasthit well, and dodge the remnants, if he pushes you can clear with razes, but he can do the same with remnants. By lvl 5 you can just clear wave, jungle, rune, go back.
Krob is almost the same, but you need to dodge the nuke.

Against Skywrath if you manage to not die at levels 2, 3 or 6, you're doing better than expected already.

I want to try hard on a ranked ladder with other try hards. Is that wrong? I'm personally fine with diminishing the legitimacy of unranked players. If they care enough, they can ladder. If they don't, they don't.
Just try to find out what page you are on. If you can't in a reasonable amount of time, it pretty much doesn't matter if you know or not.

Yeah but then what? I can be page 1 all the time and I'm still a nobody ._.
Edit: Also no shame to lose with SF in those MU's. Best you can hope to do vs skywrath is bottle crow 24/7 and raze small camp if you're radiant.

If you are regularly page 1/game 1 and got there "legitimately" (not playing TI4 style/stacks/playing the same role every game) chances are that you could build a low tier 2 /tier3 team with equally skilled people and start taking off some games off of tier 2 teams regularly

If you need a rank to see your progress you are not at a level it counts yet. Also, when will people realise it's a team game.

I question that. Even if there were a ranked ladder, teams aren't going to be combing the top end of the ladder for new players, because most of these teams recognize that once you're roughly at the top, differences in mindset, attitude, etc. are going to outweigh the difference between being #1 and #10. That's a degree of granularity that's simply not useful. You keep bringing up only arguments that support your position, without ever acknowledging the other side. It's quite painfully obvious how bias you are. The exact same thing applies to you. I've acknowledged that there are problems with bringing in a ranking system, and yet no one else from the other side accepts that there are positives to bringing in a ranking system. In fact, TheYango has basically attempted to discredit everything about ranking systems in general, even though I've always acknowledged the fact that there should be a compromise and not some ghetto system like we have right now.And ICCUP sucks, as well as IXDL for various reasons. I think we've always agreed on that fact. The only thing we've disagreed on is that you have faith that such a compromise can happen, whereas I don't think any developer to date has shown enough competency in designing these systems for me to have faith in a suitable compromise being realistically feasible--hence I hugely prefer no ranking system to a shitty one. The best solution would be to implement a system where IHL's can create their own private matchmaking ques without having to utilize some ghetto client to set everything up for them. Give the players the tools to create their own ladders, rather than forcing players to go outside the client to get something done. I don't even play IXDL anymore simply because I feel that it's too much of a hassle to get a game going. That's what I've thought from day 1. Why were we ever arguing again? I too want this to happen
There's no reason to implement a vast sweeping MMR rating system, but how cool would it be for the game overall if IHLs were quick and easy to set up within the game's system

Skywrath can be pretty difficult to lane vs, if he overextends you can absolutely get a kill on him though, storm will probably outfarm you but you should be in no danger of dying before level 6 unless you get ganked or he gets very good runes, and krob should be really quite easy as long as you dodge the crypt swarms.

See five new pages, check first page and see it's about ranking systems, skip all five pages and see we're still discussing ranking systems.
It's getting really old.
