This is a statement of fact, refuting it is suggesting that the Chinese will be coming back as a force, which the Chinese forums themselves don't even believe in (mainly surrounding ACE).
This is not a fact but rather blatant racism.
Not to mention how stupid it is to generalize Alliance = ALL WESTERN TEAMS PLAYING COMPETITIVE DOTA RIGHT NOW.

That's totally what I'm expecting but it is a nice distraction from the east - west discussion : )

well this thread is starting to degenerate really quickly

I'm waiting for big teams to get in "international" roster like LGD did. It would be good for the scene and for the players to have a stable team. Maybe Liquid can pick an EU line up or such.

What are you talking about? Only 2 western teams placed higher than Chinese (minus LGD). One of them reaching the finals can be considered a miracle (bullshitting TongFu out of top 3, then getting a free pass by Orange). The other one had shaky games against every Chinese team they played, even though they did come out on top in the end. "Dominating"? China is a scene that lacks tournaments due to ACE, there are very few new players making breakthroughs, both of these are points universally accepted in the Chinese community. If Chinese can't place top 3 this year, it is only going to be harder next year. I can turn it around and say that China, despite having the disadvantages you mentioned, managed to do better than most of the western scene. Just imagine how strong they would be should their situation regarding lack of tournaments change for the better.
On August 17 2013 22:04 uishax wrote: Also, the prize pool difference suggests that the dominance is real, regardless of how you subjectively view their plays against chinese teams. What's that even supposed to mean?

SECONDLY Are the people who say the west is not dominating Chinese serious? Even the Chinese forums and dota websites universally believe the west has far surpassed the east .
Thirdly, ZSMJ to LGD, that would sure be a spectacle to watch as the team will implode in few weeks. ZSMJ cannot play a good carry anymore, not to mention in a weak team like LGD.
It is silly to reduce LGD to a farm team when just a year ago they were considered to be among the absolute top of Dota, and they have shown strong results in most leagues they have participated in. And saying the west is dominating the east is a huge over exaggeration considering China placed 4-6th, and 3rd place was another eastern team. Just because the Chinese isn't seen as the behemoths they once were, them not living up to that reputation is not them being dominated.

So YaphetS (PIS) playing dota2 now, which team do you guys think he will play with? Edit: Just move up into the VG team maybe?
|
Can mods check if kapiten22 and uishax are the same person? Their posts looks like coming from one mouth.

Alliance and NaVi doing well was expected.
People are still saying because they did well, that means all the other Western teams should automatically do well, which did not happen in TI3. Yes no Chinese team got top 3, they still stacked the rankings.
I fail to understand people's logic of Alliance & Na'Vi = all Western Teams. Stop exaggerating.

He should make a new team with 820

PIS was playing Dota2 even prior to TI3 alongside Maybe, there is nothing new. Some says he's been paid by PW to promote Dota2 to his fan crowd.

As someone new to the scene relatively, who are Astana Dragons?

Hard to say. Kazakhstan based organisation afaik.

Looking at some twitters of Russian pro players and I found some interesting maybe trolling. Something about funnik and hvost spying, then something about drakonov (dragons), Dendi tweets 'good luck to you! dragons' to funn1k and then 'dendimon - покоритель драконов'/dendimon - conqueror of dragons.
Edit: oh and NS: Dendi-Drakon тоже звучит
There are a lot of other things like Dendi going to VP but twitter is stupid, who the hell even uses it? sigh -.-

Oh god, not the Astana Dragons shit again.
Astana Dragons is a team owned by a billionaire or something and poached two of Navi's long running CS members (Edward and Markeloff). At the moment they only have 1 CS:GO team. That twitter account has been confirmed to be fake by at least two of their CS:GO players, stating that the team has no twitter account.
As far as I know, most of the CIS scene just run with it and troll around suggesting that they are joining Astana Dragons because of the Artstyle post.

Thanks for the info! Weird team. Hahaha! I like Edward D:
