Dignitas Wins the MLG Fall Invitational at Full Sail University
Team Dignitas just won the Fall Invitational championship match 2-1 over Typical Mistakes. The series was great overall, but in the end Dignitas was just too strong for these amateur teams. With this win they will be taking home $10,000, and their first LAN win with this new roster.
Dignitas did not plow through this event like they expected. They took their first two rounds 1-0, but they definitely had a few close moments. And Typical Mistakes put up a great fight in the finals. Although they had a long day of games battling their way out of the loser's bracket with an extra series compared to how many Dignitas played.
Next up in MLG we will have the Fall Championship in Columbus, taking place from November 22-24. Expect to see many of these teams again in top shape.

Dignitas didn't destroy as I thought, but still won
I'm not too crazy about the new lineup, but maybe they are working out the kinks?

It was a fun LAN and I thoroughly enjoyed what it had to offer.
MLG has done nothing but good work on DotA thus far and with Columbus coming soon, i'm pretty hyped. Good job MLG!

NA dota has a long way to go, but winning 10K is a good start. They had some good plays during the matches.

I felt like the production was great, and Merlini/GoDz did awesome as always. The level of play could have been better, but these teams are all starting out basically.

I think they're getting better and I don't necessarily think the teams they played against were bad or anything like that even though there isn't much of an argument that Columbus will be a far greater challenge.
I mean I almost immediately gave up hope on new Dignitas but some of their games against notable teams shows faint signs of promise.

I liked the event and seeing new teams scrap it out is fun too. They will tighten up the more they play over time.

now here after watching dignitas pull out a great win... i'm here waiting for this planetside 2 thing to finish... Best of luck to Dignitas in MLG Columbus and GL to TM in the MLG Columbus Qualifiers!
edit: amg that free ingame ticket! MLG knocking another one out of the park

I really hope they become competitive, I would love to see more foreigners in TI4. This is a great, but expected, win!

Discounting the level of competition, in comparison to other tournaments in Dota I think this one probably had the least flaws. It had a tone which wasn't too jokey or too serious, the latter usually being a problem with MLG, the first being a problem for GDStudio produced events (it doesn't feel epic or grand if no one takes it seriously, it needs balance). There weren't a lot of technical issues, audio on adds a bit high, dota servers being dota servers, nothing too bad. Interviewer was good. Casting was good. Filler for such a small event was good, but for something larger would need more, like a top 5 video shouldn't really be shown on stream more than once (per day at least).
As for the level of competition...
I get that this event is a bit of a feeler, and they obviously wanted to make sure things worked technically and not put on something too big their first go around. But in the future I think if you really want to put spotlight on amateurs, you need to put them next to the pro teams. Like if you have an amateur league and a pro league, and you do the amateur final before the playoffs of the pro league that will give much more exposure to the amateur teams as more people will be tuning in.
I'd imagine this will be less of a problem though later as now Liquid and EG are back in the game and if there is another NA only tournament they'd probably be in it. But this tournament felt somewhat wasted on lackluster competition.

TD was meh, not really good at all. I wish TM proved way more than what they showed. But oh well.

Idk if they tried as hard as they should have
but some of the Dignitas players have a long way to go before they can take on the teams at columbus

Kind of expected. Dignitas has some weak links but they're still way above all the other ixdl stack teams.
Also not sure why they've decided to host a 8 match tournament in Orlando, making people fly.

I enjoyed the event more than I thought I would. I am really looking forward to Columbus :D

Hmmm, judging from the games I have seen so far, in terms of the best teams in NA, it looks like
1. Team Liquid 2. Take 5 3. Evil Geniuses 4. Dignitas
There is a sizeable gap between 1 and 2. Dignitas has some ways to go before I think they can consistently take games from tougher competition.

I agree, I never seen Liquid play so we can't really make that decision. Also I feel like with more practice EG>T5 because T5 is not into dota2 competitively. They are just 5 really good player occasionally play together for tournys. Also whether T5 is better than EG right now is debatable. I do agree that Dignitas is the weakest of these 4 teams but will be better than T5 with more practice.
