Hey guys. We've noticed the Diablo 3 forum is becoming quite inactive now that the RoS hype has died down. We're considering closing it and moving the General Discussion thread to the Other Games forum. The threads here will remain accessible, but no new posts will be allowed and the forum will be removed from the index and sidebar.

If you have any thoughts or concerns, please let us know.

Sounds good, although I wonder if the D3 forum could be moved entirely as a subforum into Other Games.
Similarly to how there is a FIFA 2014 subforum under Sports. (which btw is dead I think)

Might make it a little more accessible/viewable for members looking for D3 related stuff depending on how members are supposed to find the D3 forum otherwise. (would it still show up on the forum main page?)
If that also ends in drying up completely it can always be closed then.

The general discussion is pretty much the only thread that gets posted in, and already contains a lot of class-specific discussion. It's really the only required thread.

i don't think that the playerbase is gonna expand much at this point. even if or when the next expansion hits i don't think there is enough interest in the game for a whole subforum now.

The general thread is only what you need. One can link the most important discussions and guides to the OP.
The more patches come, the sooner the (old) threads will fall into oblivion.

I agree, the "General Discussion" thread is sufficient for the D3-community on TL.net. And I also agree that the old threads should be linked in the OP - just in the (unlikely) case that a new d3 players looks for infos.

Sad to see the D3 subforum go.

Kind of sad the best part of the game is the combat engine.. lots of potential but no direction

Still plenty of good discussion in the general thread these days, we just don't need a whole subforum

Yeah save the GD thread, and possibly some links to famous threads such as the error 37 thread, but D3 is dying, and even a new expansion won't save it unless they stumble upon some magic formula to make it ridiculously addicting.

Yeah all we really need now is the General thread. It makes me sad but we don't need the subforum anymore. All the class discussions and any patch news or whatever is already posted in the GD anyway. As long as the old threads are available to view still there shouldn't be a problem.
