How to get stronger after reaching max

So, as I decided to pickup this quasy-dead-failed-to-the-core game once more just to have a peak at where it's at before its highly doubtfully worth expansion, I realised I'm kind of stuck in an impasse: how to get stronger once you reach the best you thought possible ?

I have a monk lvl 60, paragon lvl 5.

Now, I obviously know paragon levels are a way to get stronger, but before paragon 2.0 comes out, I see no significance in getting quasy nonexistent improvement in stats.

I have the full Inna set except Reach, with decent stats purchased at a decent price at the auction house. I also have, in similar ways, Vile ward, Shenlongs, Natalya's Reflection, and Bloody Footprints. (Basically, equipped with all highly regarded uniques, such as lacuni bracers, tasker and theo gloves, etc)

Yet I'm at barely 50,000dps and 5700 armor while my friends deal five times my dps.

HOW ??

Can someone help me how they did it ?

I also have star emeralds equipped.

high cc, cd and ias on as many slots as possible. this stuff works multiplicatively, so this is how everyone is getting high high dps.

for example, i one day crafted a trifecta amu for my wd that boosted my dps from 220k to almost 255k. and the old amu was far from bad....

Just gotta keep min/maxing stats slowly. Stuff increases exponentially.

screendamage is bad. you can see on d3rawr.com your true damage and you can see how you increase your dmg.

A DH had a choice between Manticore and Windforce. He decided Windforce because his (acitve and passive) skills benefit more of it, Manticore has a plus by 82k Screendamage to Windforce.
