Im curious what character you would start to play in RoS if it came out tomorrow. Please give reasons why you would / would not choose a certain class. (assuming 95% of the players will play "ladder" or whatever it will be)
Ill start with that and set a poll!
6. Monk Not much to say here, i simply think its the most boring class in D3. I just dont like playing him. 5. Crusader While i like tanky characters, the gameplay videos of him didnt amaze me too much. Also, I expect a shitton of people to play him, which makes items more expensive. 4. Barbarian Well, Barbarian was my choice at the beginning of D3 vanilla. I still like him, but he is played too much for my taste - it simply doesnt feel special^^ Also, STR items might become expensive since Crusader and Barbarian are both expected to be very popular by me. 3. Wizard Im kind of curious how they will improve the Wizard in RoS. Not many people play Wizard at the moment, so I might give it a shot. The male wizard looks kind of weird though, and i'm used to play male chars :/ 2. Demon Hunter If i remember correctly, Demon Hunter was the strongest character at the beginning of D3. Why was that? Well, he can kill stuff quickly with reasonably low gear - even in inferno / A1. He could farm before anyone else could. Also, he is played quite little by the community right now. my 2nd choice. 1. Witch Doctor I love everything about him - besides the guy being kind of ugly :D He is not very popular as well, Items might be quite "cheap" compared to STR characters. my choice would likely be WD.
Poll: What character would you choose?Crusader (36) 43% Demon Hunter (11) 13% Wizard (10) 12% Witch Doctor (10) 12% Barbarian (9) 11% Monk (8) 10% 84 total votes Your vote: What character would you choose? (Vote): Crusader (Vote): Barbarian (Vote): Wizard (Vote): Witch Doctor (Vote): Monk (Vote): Demon Hunter

I've played all the other classes. Of course I will try Crusader first.
|
I got all the classes to +60 so I will most likely play crusader. Although I would love to do act V, I think starting anew and getting a feel for how a hero levels (with loot 2.0 implemented) should be rewarding. If not crusader then either WD or DH.
|
Definitely trying crusader first. I have to try the new content! Although if I dont like it ill continue on my monk.
|
I'll continue with my monk first and finish the game, and the other chars. At the start I thought the monk was boring, but he actually is the most fun class for me now (I kinda got bored of dh).
I probably will try the crusader..some time, but that type of class has never appealed to me though.
Edit: And yeah..I kinda felt the male chars dont really look that great. I think the male dh is the best of the lot, but still, a female dh just seems to fit the role better for me. Also, I wish the would make the barb go bald again, and give the big hair to the monk

First thing I'm going to do is to do Act V in softcore with DH, and then I will start to level a crusader in HC because it's the new class (I've played all chars up to 60 in softcore and 4 up to 60 in HC). If I could start playing act V with a lvl 1 crusader I would.

tough question... I haven't played all the class yet. (Barb and Wizard are still pretty untouched for me)
I play hardcore only :
6. Wizard I loooooooved the wizard in D2. The D3 wizard seems so boring compared to what it used to be. Cooldown on teleport and the stupid archon spell are keeping me away from this char.
5. Witch Doctor I tried WD but didn't like it. maybe I'll give it a second try.
4. Monk This class is very safe in hardcore My most played class right now. I really enjoy the monk but I'll start with something that feels different.
3. Crusader I'm really tempted to start a crusader. The only problem is that I think everybody will play one. I'll start with something else just to add variety in parties. Also I think that in loot 2.0, it won't be a big problem if all the players do a crusader.
2 Demon Hunter I love this class in D3. I'm 100% sure I'll reroll one in Ladder, but I don't think I'll start my RoS experience with it, unless some intriguing changes get made to the class.
1. Barbarian I haven't really played this class in D3, I think this is my number one choice, not really sure though. Some of my best memories in D2 came from my WW barb

I'll stick by my sorc.
Don't mind being given other alternatives than archon and cm/ww though.
|
Frozen Orb baby! FROZEN ORB!
|
Barb first, then Paladin.
|
i main wd and will most likely continue them as my main.
i will, however, try out crusader 1 or 2 months after release. the idea of using a 2hander + shield is particularly intriguing. 200 cd + 110 cd from socket on weapon + 10 cc from shield that you usually dont have on 2h builds.. imba
things will ofc look different if they really decide to cap cc and cd.
|
I might try out a wizard, though I'll likely just stay with my monk.
|
making a poll and then describing your feelings about each class before letting a person vote is going to create some bias
i chose monk, it was my favorite in d3 vanilla and now that they nerfed teleport punch (possibly) im interested in seeing what new builds i will have to try
|
I'm definitely going to start RoS with crusader and I'd like it to be my main class. On the other hand I really like my witch doctor, which would probably be my second choice. I could also pick up my dusty old monk. We'll see, so far I'm going with crusader.
|
Im hoping there will be a beta phase where people are able to play crusader and see if theres any room for any fun, synergical build. If no (and crus ends up being like pre ww-tornado Barbarian) im gonna skip the new class entirely and stick to my WD.

Also, I expect a shitton of people to play him, which makes items more expensive.
Where do you think to buy such items? No AH for the expansion. I know you said if the expansion came tomorrow, but with Loot 2.0 being tied more or less to the expansion (as in sure to have launched before it comes), the prices of items shouldn't really matter.
Crusader first for sure.

Wizard. Frozen Orb is back, bitches.

Crusader first for sure. Trading (which will be even worse than AH, because it will be like AH but not protecting against scams ^^), unless they said that trades will be disabled?

Or they will release the expansion before the shut down. Imagine the rush on the real money ah. Everything would sell, since the end draws near for easy trading. And then Blizzard will say "people still use the ah like crazy so we will keep it" and swim in their pool of money like valve does.
