Hi guys,
I'm in Europe and the game will sell for 60 euros off battle.net which is really quite pricey when they Europe costs tons for me now. Meanwhile people in the US pay 60 dollars, which is way less. Anyone found any great deals, either online or locally for your country ? Would be nice if we could rack up a list of the best places to buy the product from.
I've heard people say they preordered it on Amazon and apparently they get it for 1/3 of the price it sells for at release day.

Just use whatever price comparison website you have in your specific country (Pricerunner for me for example) whenever you're about to buy a new game, pretty simple really.
I ordered the Collector's Edition for 799 kr, which is about €90. Cheapest I've seen for the regular edition over here is 'bout €48.

In Iceland the game goes for 10.000 krónur ( 80 dollars / 531 sek ) , collectors edition for 20.000 krónur ( 160 dollars / 1062 sek. ).
The inflation is pretty rampant and the main reason I want to find the best price possible.

And its ridiculous because Iceland has had the largest collapse of any country in the recent crisis.. and the prices are still so obscenely high? What the hell

Well the collapse is part of the reason. Foreign trade for us is pretty harsh since our currency is a pile of poo.

The average income in Iceland is almost identical to the average income in the US. This is also true for about a third of all European countries. A large portion of European countries also have a higher average income higher than the US. Sure the Euro is worth more than the dollar but Europeans also have an average income higher than the dollar.
My Point: Yes its more expensive in Europe but difference is not as big as people make it out to be because the average European makes more than the average American. Therefore how $60 dollars is viewed compared to how 60 euros is viewed in their respective countries is quite similar.

Correct. Pre-ordered it for £23 so that was awesome. Now sells for £33 which for a new game really isn't too bad at all.

Having different prices in different countries seems kind of unfair. Do you have any contacts that you could ask to get it for you or something ? I don't know about the legality and besides you cant play on release day.

I have contacts in the UK and such. They could wire me the cd key once they get it I guess. Question is if there would be any delay in getting to play and if the delay would be worth the saved money.

Question #2: is the game region locked? Make sure of that first

Blizz store is 60€. No thanks. Online stores are roughly at 50€. I expect them (along with big local stores) to lower the price in the first 1-2 weeks to 30-35ish € - just as it happened with SC2. A good indication this will happen might be, that the game was sold for ~21 pounds at some point on amazon.co.uk with the price guarantee from amazon... too bad I couldn't pre-order it back then (as the world might know, in Germany basically no one uses/has a credit card which is required to order from the UK).

Really? Germans don't use credit cards?

I got mine in Poland for 165zł, which is 52$ or 40€. I'd say that's decent price considering how expensive the games are becoming.
|
In France, Amazon sells it for €42 but you have to wait a couple of days to get it. Mine is expected to arrived on May 18th

Last game I gought was from thehut.com, because games are so much cheaper in the UK. Turned out I had to wait for a long time and had to buy taxes. So my question to all fellow germans: does this happen every time, or is it kinda luck based (depending on the Zoll)? And where do you plan to buy it?
