In any case as sj said, I saw Amazon reloaded some copies and as of now they are available there if you want a CE.

It seems like worst case scenario you might break even or make a marginal sum apart from the initial investment, but if WoW is any indication it definitely has potential. If you think about it time frame wise, the WoW collector's was I assume around $100 as well, so 25x investment in 8 years essentially. Only argument against this might be if you feel like you're taking the opportunity to own a CE from someone who may have really wanted one, but I think that it is a weak argument considering the non-CE doesn't really have any volume restrictions (ie: specific # of total copies). Anyways, just sharing my thoughts on here, I figure it would be worthwhile to think about doing with 4-5 copies, but I don't want to speculate with money like that right now. Seems like apart from having your cash tied down for a bit, it would give you a very legitimate return in a relatively short period. In any case as sj said, I saw Amazon reloaded some copies and as of now they are available there if you want a CE. There will be many people doing that, and by the time D3 is really old, there will be many copies for sales and you won't make any big profit.

I did this with a few copies of original wow, but it looks like I cashed out way to soon, I got 300$ each about 2 years after release. A lot of people will think about doing this but very few will do it, and many will cash out at 3-4x price, so if you really want to sit on it for 8years then yea you'll stand to make a solid profit. WoW CE was 79.99

There will be many people doing that, and by the time D3 is really old, there will be many copies for sales and you won't make any big profit. I mean, this is possible of course, but I think it is still unlikely. At the end of the day, after like the 6 year mark, the odds of having a saturated enough market to cut into your profit is unlikely. If you look at WoW now, there are copies out there, but the amount has not really decreased the price of an unopened original CE from what I can tell. I think as the other poster pointed out a lot of people might try it, and end up cashing out for a more modest 2x-4x type profit. In any case it seems like a good thing to consider seeing as how worst case scenario is even money perhaps.

Keep thinking that ![]() It's quite common to do a 2x sell after two or more years for Blizzard games. I don't know about you but a 100% return in 2-4 years is pretty f good.

YOu can always just buy the digital copy and play the minute the servers go live :D

Has anyone else experienced similar waiting times for the payment to go through? It strikes me as odd, because the official FAQ on Bnet says that they will bill the PayPal account immediately. I thought before filling out a ticket and asking, I'd give good ol' TL a try. ![]() Just a bit worried that I won't get to play as soon as Blizz opens up the servers. Any answers would be much appreciated.

That was 9 days ago. Now, when I log into Bnet it shows the transaction as "complete". However, when I log into PayPal it says "pending", as well as an expiration date for the payment authorization (April 13). My bank account has not been billed yet either. Years ago in a land far away, I'd buy any blizzard release instantly, midnight release and enjoy the shit out of it. WoW since WoTLK, SC2, Bnet 2.0, are all big warning signs to me. I have to give diablo a chance, but if it's not so good, blizzard sinks for me. I'm scared, nothing used to give me more chills then loading war2bne and seeing the blizzard logo come up. I know I'm seeing everything from rosey colored nostalgia glasses but I find it hard to argue that their game quality hasn't dropped significantly. GLHF, d3 better not suck. ![]()

GLHF, d3 better not suck. ![]() I actually feel the same way. There was a time I'd blindly buy Blizzard games in a heartbeat with eyes closed, but nowadays, I'm not so sure anymore... I have no doubt the game will be a smashing hit, but the question I find myself asking is: "Will it be fun for me?" I have doubts. I didn't get beta access being from Europe which totally got the shaft, but I was following D3 very closely. I watched hours upon hours of streams and youtube videos. I've followed the development and the changes they implemented and read up on big D2/3 news sites. From what I saw, I'm not entirely convinced I'm going to have fun playing this as much as previous Blizzard titles. I'm not sure it will be as addicting, nor either will I sink as many hours into it as I did into D1, WC2, SC BW, D2, WC3 TFT, SC2... And that scares and saddens me =(

GLHF, d3 better not suck. ![]() There is hardly anything rosey colored with D2 and BW. The fact that D2 has more active games on right now than SC2 does is a testiment to the amazing game that it is. Yea I'm even further along than you when it comes to this. I never even bought SC2. A friend of mine did (Long since no longer plays it) and I tried it out with him but it turned out a dud like I expected it to. Battle Net 2.0 is just a total wash. The fact that Blizzard touted it as the next generation of online gaming and then delivering...that...just makes me slightly bitter. I am still debating whether I will even buy D3. I used to be an extremely avid Blizzard fan and SC2 was the FIRST game of theirs I did not purchase. Basically what D3 is to you Wrath of the Lich King was for me. I just didn't buy into the whole "well trust blizzard they haven't failed us before." Bnet 2.0 just felt fundamentally different than the blizzard I grew up with. I want to give Diablo 3 a chance, I really do but buying it almost enforces to blizzard that what they did was correct. They succeeded and got my money, why would they care otherwise?
