Not sure what to tell ya. I bought the CE from Amazon as well. I received the email and noticed the eta being between May 21-25 which is absurdly late. Luckily I noticed in time and managed to swap it to Release-Date Shipping so hopefully it will arrive in a day or something.

Collectors Edition
They are sold out, but there is a chance they may get more (although doubtful now that release date has been given).

You can do the beta naked hc without ever dropping below 90% hp, who knows maybe there is some massively steep slop coming up that just throws everyone off the deep end and the game ends up relatively challenging before wasting too much time, but probably not. In all likelihood it will be a slowly ramping up of difficulty that doesn't get to relatively easy before the end of normal. A pvp that resides only in arenas. Well it depends on the philosophy Blizzard takes with their "end game content" here, which AFAIK noone outside the developers actually know. Are they gonna follow the "everyone should see all the content there is to see" model, where Inferno is tuned so that even casual play will get you through with minimal frustration? Or are they gonna follow the "everyone should be able to finish the game.. but for the hardcore players, there's are exponentially more difficult options" model, where normal is tuned so that casual play will get you through, but higher difficulties will be tuned for completely different audiences? All the signs point to their plan being the second one. But we don't know yet, and even if we did know, we can't tell if they've executed correctly. They already said that the endgame content will be for hardcore players. Then you have to question what is blizzard's definition of "hardcore" players? If Sc2 brutal was "hardcore" then most TL players gonna be very bored very quickly because it's too easy. If wow hardmodes were "hardcore" then maybe 1 out of 10 will provide some entertainment and maybe 1 out of 25 a real challenge the rest will be the same easy to avoid mechanics but with slightly higher hp/damage. Altho I feel I'm giving too much credit to wow encounters since on a individual level they were all very simple but the difficulty of it came from likelihood of having to carry 9, 24, 39 others. If they do make it a true challenge how long would they keep it that way before giving in to the entitlement of the casuals to see everything? There's just too much unknown here. I would like nothing more than for them to make something truly epic in the end game that I could slam my head against a brick wall for hours to make small dents into, but for now I'm gonna try not to get my hope up so I can still enjoy the game for what it is, and not what I wished it could have been.
Yeah I hope it will be harder than SC2 brutal as brutal was too easy, I had to retry maybe 2 or 3 missions in brutal and until the hardest one I always tried to get all 3 achievements at the same time.
Unimportant wow opinion: + Show Spoiler +Well for WoW I always viewed it like this: no matter how good you are there is a chance you will fail, very good players may be 1% chance while the people you carry or 10% chance. When you then have to rely on everybody suceeding the difficulty comes from this. If the game was so hard that a hardcore player had only 75% success the game would be terribly hard and boring since wiping is such a loss of time in this game.
I don't think they will catter to casual and nerf d3 difficulty, they did it for wow because of the subscription, there is no point in D3. They already can see the whole content even if they dont reach inferno.
But let's forget about WoW or Sc2. As much as I'd like the game to be hard I'm also reallistic. The game is doable y developers. It means, us, hardcore gamers will complete it without feeling too badly stuck. If someone that plays sc2 at master league, finished brutal in 3-4 days after release, expect Inferno to be a complete brick wall I think he will get disapointed (and players better than that, even more). The difficulty is doable and certainly not by pro players only.
Now that said, I'm still eager for the game, without thinking it will be impossible, if it is a challenge that requires me to have reflexes and all I will be satisfied. And if you look back, D2 was easy, especially in party. If they give something harder than D2 that will be quite enough for me. (To be fair, D2 was difficult but only if you made a bad build).

Ah screw it. I was thinking that school may be too important......but it is diablo after all! i wanna pre order!

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. They talk a lot about it being "hard", but im betting by May 22nd the game will be easy mode.

Shut up and take my money. I hope its easy so i can beat it. Since more people are dragged into gaming they should make games enjoyable for everypony.
Not sure if i should get the CE. 55€ vs 90€ (72$/117$). Still have no D2 ...

Most of us on TL are pretty hardcore when it comes to games so what is easy for us will not necessarily be easy for the majority of players. It's natural for us to read up and learn all there is to know about the 'right' builds or calculate them ourselves but some people will never do that. What we might see as a good challenge might seem impossible for them.
In D2 Hell wasn't too bad if you were twinked up with the right gear and playing it in softcore but if you were untwinked in HC it can still be a pretty scary ride, so if they maintain that level of difficulty I'll be content- I don't think it really needs to be harder than D2.

I agree. Blizzard should stop being so greedy and stop making expansions. In fact, Blizzard should stop making games at all.

This I haven't gotten on Beta once, haven't watched a single stream... only thing I've seen is I watch a speed run of destroying scenery on youtube... I'm so damn pumped! Ready to give another 8 years of my life to Diablo :D
I'm kinda like you on the spoiler thing. But then I was in beta, I watched A LOT of streams, vods and Idra winning the King of the beta tournament, but when I first saw the Tychus opening cinematic and at the end of it, the STARCRAFT II logo with THE sound, it still gave me some of the biggest chills I ever had in my entire life. Ever.
And I'm bigger Diablo fanboy than starcraft.
Guess what will happen to me when I'll see the Diablo logo reveal at the end of the video.

I haven't pursued any info either. I want it to be a journey of self-discovery.

Another sweet game for me to spend my time rolling my face to my keyboard on!

Yeah that's what I'm saying, you gotta be realistic about the difficulty, TL members will probably finish it. But I still think they can manage to make something difficult enough for us in the 2 last difficulties that will feel good and which will seem crazy hard for a casual player (the kind that always play on easy or normal). If they do that I'll be happy, I don't expect them to make it incredibly hard that you must be Flash (diablo level) to beat it (I exagerate but you know what I mean).
On the other hand I believe hardcore will be a real challenge. Of course I don't know it's speculation, we'll see after the 15th may.

Why?
It's funny to read this comment on a SC2 website, under a D3 forum.
So far they have been making good games, masterpieces even. The fact that they are greedy is just a standard for such a huge and succesfull company. They aren't here to give charity, brah.

hmm, weird.. i feel less hype with the release date than there was with "beta has started!". i guess it's because almost no one got a key ^_^
still lookin' forward to it bigtime!

Just a heads up to those of you who were keeping an eye out on the Amazon Collector's availability, I just got my order in with release date shipping. It's convenient that the release day shipping actually comes out cheaper than standard so instead of like $4 it comes out to like 99c for me or something. Was pretty nifty, anyway it seems like they've got some stock.

I miss the days when I could spend four hours MFing on D2 and then list the items on ebay for profit. ;( Damn dupers and Damn Ebay rules. I hope D3 is just as fun!!

howcome they let CE get sold out? isn't it in everyone's best interest if they sell as many $100 boxes as possible
