Blizzard better promote the hell out of the Taiwan server while they can otherwise thats alot of players gone from there too.

Please excuse my massive ignorance. Just something I'm wondering now.. Since Loner is from China and I assume starcraft 2 was previously banned there, how did he and other Chinese players get around that restriction??

This is gonna be reaaaaallly interesting. China developed a pretty decent progaming culture with bw and wc3. I wonder if this huge delay in the release will hinder F91 & others a lot or if they will be able to get competitive soon.

WC3 had macro??? lol i remember building 2 control groups of units and being capped ... im pretty sure WC3 was like 90% micro 10% macro...

They're both a really big deal. BW might have died down a bit I have no idea, but I know they had an OSL finals in Shanghai.

Overall good news, I didn't even realize that the game wasn't "officially approved" yet. Not sure if it'll make as big an impact to China but we'll see.

Do you guys remember some talk of a SC1 clone? Something to do with, the game being made in protest of Blizz/KeSPA negotiations - it would have the same mechanics of SC1, reskinned units/race, but play identically? I also wonder if China would have some equivalent of SC2, which is country-specific or something?

WC 3 is much, much, more popular than BW in China.

Will people in China play on the SEA server or get their own server?
I would imagine that a Chinese presence on the SEA server would strengthen the competition quite a bit.

I am really interested in seeing how the server population will compare to NA. China is probably one of the only countrys that could justify its own local server. And maybe Taiwan as well for political reasons.

This is a big deal. Painkiller which was a CPL tournament game was removed from the China end of the CPL tour because the Ministry of Culture deemed it "spiritual" or some other non-sense.
