I'm scheduled until the Friday, but I'm free on Saturday (laughs). What about you? Jaedong: Me... I'll just play games. d'oh Saturday was xmas. She was joking how she got Xmas off. JD had PL that day too against SKT if I recall. Tx for translation! Really sad for JD. He needs a break to relax, reset his mind and win the MSL! I hope he gets the card that's being organised soon!

Bear in mind that in Korea as well as many other Asian countries, Christmas (and New Year's Day) is not that of a huge event that make you look like an alien if you miss it. In many Asian nations they're still being referred to as something "infected" by Western cultures. Not that I am saying Xmas and Solar new year are 'small' ones, they're still big events but the biggest, most important holiday is Lunar New Year's. Gift-giving, family and friends meeting and partying are among the most distinctive features during this time. If it's confirmed that Jeadong really locks himself in his room and plays hardcore SC all day during lunar new year's (highly unlikely), then we can all cry out eyes out. Cheers. uh thats not exactly true. im not completely sure about korea, but in Japan Christmas is a pretty big deal as in a "do something with your significant other" type of day. And New Years almost everybody spends time with their family or friends. and if you dont do something on these days you sort of get pictured as aloof or not an outgoing person.

Jaedong is too cute. I wish he loosened up a bit during the date... I feel like she was pretty chill and he was giving the typical progamer answers. You don't have to be perfect practicing machine... But still, that was so awkwardly cute. Thanks for translating~

Then how come korea is the only asian country to recognise christmas as a public holiday (true fact)?

Christianity is bigger in Korea, and is almost a non factor in Japan. They treat Christmas like valentines day here in Japan, but Korean's treat it like Christmas I believe. (could be wrong..) And for the People questioning Date.. when it's not a date.. Once again I'm assuming Korea is the same as Japan because they tend to share more culture than either will happily admit, A Date is not a Date like Westerners see it as, it doesn't have to have romantic overtones, A Date is just a guy and a girl hanging out, whether it be as friends, or as something else.

Also Canucks maybe you should add a T/N that while it reads very awkward in english it is not AS awkward in korean... while the interview was a bit rigid because it was a formal atmosphere since they didn't know each other beforehand, it really wasn't that bad but somehow it translates a lot lot more awkwardly.. like when he says he's just nervous because she's pretty, in korean it's totally normal to say but in english it just makes it sound like a fail hit-on moment for JD;;

For two friends to talk and hang out, I would never in my life want a whole crew to be there and ask me questions while I talk to/with the other person. Maybe that changes when two supposedly "famous" people meet ... I dont know. Maybe its just not real and a big setup. I really dont know what to think of interviews/arranged meetups .. seemy so plastic/fake to me.
