I mean, he does say that SC2 already has a higher status than BW... "I will definitely change to StarCraft II as I feel that StarCraft 2 is having a higher status then StarCraft: Broodwar."
I don't know it it's been mentioned already but there's some confusion about that bit of the interview. In Swedish it says "...as I feel that Starcraft 2 will have/reach a higher status..."
I don't know which one is correct though, just saying. Personally I think the Swedish translation makes more sense.

NO NO Jaedong, you WILL NOT move over to StarCraft2
please don't

Source GosuGamers.net - Interview with Flash after he won the WCG: "There are plenty of opportunities to see us in Korea and it is definitely not the last chance to see us play against each other since we will continue to play Starcraft: Brood War for at least five more years," says Flash to Rakaka.se.
While some players have transitioned over to StarCraft 2, Flash admits that he has not even tried the new game.
- "I have not had the time to do so since I have been busy playing Starcraft:Brood War. I will not change the game in the near future," says Flash, but is not short on what he thinks of his potential skill in Starcraft 2: "However I believe that both me and Jaedong will be in the top if we ever change game."

With how kespa takes around 50% of winnings and salary isn't as much as chain winning GSL's *which he is capable of doing*, you're not thinking about the players, which seems to be the last thing on peoples minds here.

Flash gets 300k from kt salary if he wins just enough, not included prize money. how many gsl's do you have to win to make that much money?

"Either you retire a BW legend, or you stay long enough to see yourself become an SC2 player."
Just kidding. The thought of JD in SC2 is very interesting and will have huge impacts, but that just seemed like a safe answer that doesnt tell us much. I mean I assumed everyone had that stance anyway; every bw pro has to have weighed that option against their current situation.
|
i found it interesting how he felt he needed to build a reputaion in the community abroad. Im not sure if he knows that we all think he's a total baller or not. Regardless im really curious about how long he will stay with BW, the money in sc2 might draw him over fast though

and always remember: jd gets zero (in numbers. 0) prize money as soon as flash follows him;-)

The tyrant is turning over to the dark side...

Jaedong playing sc2? Ok.
Guess the time of watching white guys win tournaments is over. Was fun while it lasted.

It's already over! Look at the GSL.

The thing is JD likes hanging out with us and I can totally see him doing this in a few years time. I think he's just pointing out the obvious. I don't think he'll switch until he's no longer viewed as a top player or wins another major title.

JAEDONGGGGG!!! OMFG
When Jaedong starts playing SC2, Zerg will never get a buff ever again.
|
guess this is the end, all my zerg heroes are gone (effort and jd)

You're right, I'm being completely selfish and I don't care.
However, BW is the better eSport in my humble opinion and seeing top players leaving (i.e. it fading away) is not a good thing for the entirety of professional gaming. In other words, I do not want to see the best, most entertaining game ever made slip away into the night, even an iota, especially when it still has so much to offer.
Who knows, maybe KeSPA will be forced to make better deals with BW players in order to keep the scene alive. Would be nice. I'd also like a pony.
