I'm ready
I'd consider replacing the vid card if I were you. Are you sure that's right? It's not up to spec with anything else in the comptuer.
As for myself:

Yeah.
uhuh.
Take it.

ugh, another one of these threads.
in most cases, people will be able to run the minimum. those with duo cores and quad cores and higher end graphics can probably max it out

In theory best system for sc2 would need fast CPU more cores the better ie something like a phenom ii or i7 along with a strong gpu, it's an rts and needs to do a lot of calculations that are best done on a cpu.

If your PSU is a quality brand, 650W is enough for you to run a gtx 295, without knowing the brand, you may have little to no headroom at all.

Got an ancient P4 2,8ghz but since I only play sc it works for now. Planning on buying a new rig when I got the release date for sc2. Gotta start reading up on stuff soon so I know what to get. Building it myself to guarantee unstableness.

seems I double posted when hitting the 'back' button somehow =[

It's one of those Antec Truepower 2.0's I believe. Also, right now I'm running my i7 on its stock cooler. Can you recommend a relatively inexpensive heatsink I could replace it with?

+1 for the xigamatek dark knight, I'm using one on my phenom ii now, and it works great, 43C load at stock
the scythe mugen 2 cools better, and is a few dollars cheaper http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185093
but its HUGE, and you will have to make sure it fits in your system http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=211739 mugen2 is just a tad behind the much more expensive true 120
Oh and with the antec power supply, you should be able to run any video card on the market with the gtx 295 its recomended to have a 680W power supply, but that recommendation takes into account a Pc with many fans/HDD's
Guru3d tested the gtx 295, with an overclocked corei7 and it maxed out at 411W, though every system is different your may use more http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-295-single-pcb-review/7

Built as a budget build last summer, doing well so far:
CPU : Intel core 2 duo e7200 @ 2.53ghz Mobo: Gigabyte EP35-DS3L Ram: 2 gigs of Mushkin DDR2 800 (4-4-4-12) HD: WD 320gb Graphics: Diamond 4850 PSU: Coolermaster 600W OS: XP Pro 32bit atm, might upgrade to 7 when it is released
Works fine so far, runs everything on high settings, sc2 wont be a problem

Seriously ? I used to play SC on a pentium 100 Mhz... I said with anything else running... For example, when I watch a video on youtube my CPU is at 80%. Actually every flash application laggs my computer, and in today's world almost every site has them. Oh and I have to use basic skin for Winamp because it laggs with modern one. probaly allot virus/spyware shit on your pc then? None. Just formatted it a week ago.
Plus, I'm really fanatic when it comes to Task Manager and it's processes, so when I turn on the computer, nothing besides explorer.exe loads.
It's just that 1 core processors can't handle the flash applications that easily...

Wow I have an old computer...
TT cube 600W p/s 8800gtx (took days to install this in a damn matx mobo/case) core 2 e6600 (zalman 120mm cooler (yes, it fits LOL)) 80gb 10k raptor 2x1gb 800mhz
yeah my comp will probably fail due to lack of quadcore
also pain in the ass to overclock in such a small case
edit: using linux unbuntu and xp pro
