i7 920 - Not overclocked as there is no point, no game currently out requires more CPU power then what this already hands out. Gigabyte EX58 Nvidia 260 GTX Extreme (not overclocked either, only adjusted fan speed to 60% when I play games) 3x2GB Corsair DDR3-1333 Tagan PipeRock TG700-BZ 700w (Now this baby looks amazing in my awesome Antec 902 Gaming tower. Blue neon lgihts everywhere and every plug has a green/blue/red look. Christmas tree!) Western Digital 7200 RPM 1TB With the beast below this one has very good airflow, finally no risk of overheating ever again. ![]()

![]() I'm planning on building one for the first time. I'm not sure whether I should build it in time for SC2 though, or wait for the 32 nm processors. At the current rate, however, they may be out well before SC2 comes out:p My last two purchases have been more for specific purposes, rather than an all around awesome computer. An iMac for flash and photoshop, and a crappy laptop for college:p

![]() ![]() ![]() I built the case from scratch myself out of 2'x2' acrylic panels and 6' angle steel stock. Had to cut the angle steel, miter it, drill holes in the angle steel and the acrylic with holes that line up, drill holes using a hole saw for the fans, cut holes using an angle grinder for the back I/O area and the CD drive etc. I think I made a blog post about it a while back. It's my baby, I love it. Also in those pictures I didn't have the front or top panels on.... I was still working on it at the time. looks way cooler closed up!

You may get away with low settings, but your video card is the weak link, its not really meant for gaming, just watching HD video. http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,657567/Geforce-9400-GT-reviewed/Reviews/?page=7 You may want to check your power supplies rating before looking at a new GPU, if you want to stay cheap, you can pick up a gts 250 for $100 which will play sc2 great, your CPU is fine. whats your budget for the build? are you building it yourself? are you upgrading the whole tower or just main components? I can help you with some selections if you'd like. For example I wouldn't buy a core 2 duo, amd's phenom ii x2 give a better price/performance ratio. I'm sure blizz hasn't announced anything official though.

What kind of engine you got in that thing? WOW! thats like triple liquid cooling with 20 fans, an air conditioning machine and a computer both in one. Heck you probably have freon running in the tubes lol! As far as SC2 graphics go, my 9600gt runs Crysis on high witout a single glitch and I HIGHLY doubt SC2 engine will require anywhere close to what Crysis needs. Most brand new computers at best buy and other comp shops from brand name manufacturers are just now adding geforce 7600? level cards in those machines and I doubt Blizzard would make every one of their fan base go from running SC1 on a 15 year old comp to making them build a rig or buy a high end gaming machine for over $1500 ?

Get a better video card than that. 9600 GT would be ideal, but you can also go with the older 8800 GT, as well (the 8800 is better than the 9400 by a large margin). Also, if you can find out what sort of RAM you're putting in to that computer, that's going to be important, too. RAM is arguably the most important piece of hardware to a stable and speedy computer. Preferably, I'd need to know how much ram, what brand, what type (DDR, DD2, or DDR3), how fast (800, 1066, 1333, 1600, or 1888, [or 2066 if you're an idiot and wasting money on it :p]), and the latency of the ram (Usually is in the specs as something like 8-8-8-24).
