Runs on Ultra at average of 50 fps early game but drops to around 45 fps mid game.
The recommended settings for my computer is Texture Quality: High and the rest of the settings Ultra so I assume yours should be able to handle it. I think you would need at least 4gb RAM cos whenever I run SC2 alone, it uses at least 3gb RAM.

C2Q6600 8800GT 2 GB Ram
Thinking of upgrading to be honest, not sure.

I dont need Win 7 since I had one on my current laptop so I'm just gonna switch it to the new built desktop. With that, i think i can upgrade the CPU to a i3 so I can have some upgrade option later on. What do you think?

I'm not really sure how it compares in Canada but 699 is 753.711 AUD which I would consider fairly cheap for a premade PC box with a Windows license. You should have no trouble running at least high with no problems on that PC, most likely Ultra easily.

That computer will definitely run SC2 on Ultra, but I fear that the power supply they put in it is really weak. 350w? Everything else looks really good, but you need to ask the seller about the power supply, for fear that your computer could pretty much die and you'd lose all your computer parts. Ask them if they can upgrade the power supply, or buy your own and replace it. Another power supply would be about 70-80

I'd go with this or this or this or this.
That ultra has nice reviews, but I think the wattage is overstated, as there are only 38amps on the 12v rail (power supply talking ). The price is a bit more in some that I suggested, but the reliability is definitely there.
Looks good.

Hi. I kinda have a problem with SC2 performance.
Bucket:
PS: Corsair 450W HX (excellect PS) Athlon X2 64 5000+ (2.6GHz, Overlocked @ 3.01GHz) 4GB DDR2 in 128Bit Mode Asus nVIDIA EN220GT 1GB DDR3 (Core, Memory, Shaders Overlocked)
I think rest is unimportant.
I know this isn't a really a strong rig, but I also think SC2 is not kind of game to do this to me...
BUT, according to SC2 itself it recommends MOST of the stuff on High. But when I set the graphics what SC2 recommends, it is horrible. I can't get pass 20FPS. Maybe at the beginning of the game when there is little stuff on the map, but later on it LAGS. Almost unplayable.
Now, I set to Medium... SAME THING, just a little, tiny bit better. I just won't run smoothly. I even lowered the sound, disabled music, etc, etc..
Here is my current settings which work "well". But still when I hover over heavy base it drops around or below 20FPS:
http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/706/graphicuq.jpg http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/2523/soundc.jpg
PS. This is running on Win7 64Bit Fresh Install, Newest GPU drivers, etc. Anyway, I really know my way around computers since I work in that branch and this cannot be external problem because I took memory and cpu snapshots during the gameplay and SC2 uses everything. Nothing in the background is going wild or taking CPU time. And there is nothing to take GPU time.
I tried FRAPSING also. That is mission impossible. Call Tom Cruise to the rescue. Even at lowest FRAPS settings with Half Screen and low FPS I can't play well to record anything well...
I also know this GPU is not really good. But it still has 1GB DDR3 (not DDR2) and nicely overclocked performance os I think SC2 should behave on Medium/High mixing.
If anyone can shed a light please do.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, just wondering, is what the people in this link saying true? http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/290399-33-termaltake-400w-radeon-5770
I have the Radeon HD 5770 graphics card and a similar power supply (420W, 12V @ 16A) If what the link above says is true, does that mean I don't need a new PSU? I keep hearing that you need high amps from the 12V rail to run Radeon HD 5770.
Thanks.

Could you list your other specs also, just in case? I say yes 400w is sufficient. 5xxx series are pretty power efficient.
What's the brand/item name of your PSU anyway?

My PSU is: Thermal Master (TM-420-PMSR) +12V 16A +5V 30A +3.3V 30A
Thanks for being so patient with me R04R, I know too little about this stuff
