Anyone know what hotkeys Bisu uses? I feel very uncomfortable with using 0 or 9 for Nexus, it just seems "awkward"

Is it recommended to hotkey observers? How about HT's or DT's? Robo Facility?

How many hotkeys are usually enough for a P army? 1~4?

his hotkeys are interesting.

he changes them a lot. but correct me if i'm wrong, i think he uses 1 for scouting probe and 2 for probe doing building. he hotkeys with 2 a lot. also i think his first gateway is on 3 (i'm doing this off memory i can't be sure) later on he changes and has 4-9 gates and 0 the natural nexus. he also uses 5 for stargate and 6 for robo pvz. like i said he changes his hotkeys and his multitasking is amazing because of it.

All I know is that he starts off with 4 on nexus. Later on he keeps 6~9 as gateways. Everything else depends on the game.

For a max protoss army, you would need up to 5, but that's assuming you're going to hotkey your entire army.

I always used 4 for Nexus (most likely cuz i copied bisu)
I find that it is really good early game because i can just keep my hand on my left side.
Instead of pressing P, u just click the probe icon after pressing 4.

When mid game comes (or when i get my 2nd nexus), i'll start using 9/10 for nexus.
but early game, i find 4 is not bad

1-2 = units/scouting
3 = robo early on then into units too
4 = nexus (later mid game becomes units too)
5-8 = gateways

late game, you should use F2-F4

I would've thought that the only logical reason for using 4 for Nexus is because they were using DVORAK. 0-9 seems much more intuitive otherwise.

0 and 9 nexus sucks. i explained some of bisu's hotkey in -_-'s guide.

I saw some Bisu fpvod and I realized he uses F keys for his expansions and he doesn't even hotkey any other nexuses other than the main (4). What he does is do 4p then F key to some natural or some other expo, click the nexus and press p.

The rest of his hotkeys can be looked up in his replays.

Wait, so you arent considered a total noob for clicking the probe icon?

Thank god.

Fairly certain 0p9p is faster than 4pF3clickp, as well as much more useful when you have to build probes while micro-ing (no screen change necessary for 0p9p). Completely disregarding 0 9 nexus because you found a comfortable setup is...unwise.

The problem with 0 and 9 is precisely that it makes you reluctant to change the screen. You make the probes but you forget to send them to mine. Also since you already have the F keys set up, it's great for transferring workers and storm dodging etc. Also 0 and 9 keys are way too far from your F keys in general. Double tapping 0 or 9 purely to change screens is also bad because you have to bring your hand out of position, not to mention you are deselecting whatever you had selected. Also 0, and 9 for that matter, can be put to greater use; for example, Stork uses 0 for robotics, and I bet he does 0 o for observers. So no, it is not unwise to disregard 0 and 9 nexus at all.

I was about to say that. And I know it since I changed from 09 to using the F keys and 4 for my initial nex.

Use 0 and 9 if you're comfortable with it. We don't have Bisu's 350-400APM, so don't think you can pull off his hotkey setup...or that you'd even benefit at all from trying.

A key thing to hotkeys is that you need to shift them around throughout the game in a way that maximizes the APM you have available. This really does vary depending on your individual play style and comfort. I wouldn't bother trying to copy the exact keys a progamer uses but rather understand the way they think about using hotkeys and try to replicate the thought processes.

Use hot keys that are comfortable to you. It doesn't matter what someone else uses as they may have a different play style and maybe more comfortable using different keys in specific situations.

I like using '0' for my main nexus just because it's close to the 'p' button, every other race I play I use '4'. As for obs, HTs, and DTs, depends on the situation. If you're harassing with DTs then hotkey them by themselves, if you're going all in and not using them to kill workers then you can just group them with army. I like keeping my HTs in with the rest of the army instead of separate hotkeys, during battle it's easier, for me, to look for my HTs so I can get a location on them before I move/storm. In late game it's difficult to have enough hotkeys, again this is for e, to have separate ones for HTs so I don't bother. Also, HTs -> Archons makes it easier to send archons without sending in the rest of my HTs. Obs, if you have decent APM include them in the army and just double or ctrl click them to move them out of danger/into mine fields. You can always separate hotkey to make sure they're safe though.

It's absolutely pointless to try and change the hotkeys you are used to, since it'll just scew your play so badly. As PH pointed out, Bisu's hotkeys work for Bisu, mine work for me and yours probably work for you.
I use 8p9p0p just because I'm used to it. 3-7 are gates, 1-2 (later 3, 4 and 5 (possibly 6)) are units.
Trying is the first step towards failure, and hope is the first step towards disappointment!
