Understandably, in general people grievously underestimate the toll streaming takes (though real jobs like delivery are harder).

Gypsy is going back to Korea in a few weeks and I cannot keep this on my chest any longer.
I started watching Gypsy93 and quickly became a more respected member of his community with a VIP badge (or so I thought). Then, without warning he began calling me the "R" word and hurled many other harmful incantations. I tried to defend myself and he simply used his power to ban me.
I made formal complaint that night and thankfully twitch took immediate (although temporary) action.
Our community has always been an accepting one. This is the first time I'm facing real and persistent discrimination from players with a platform. We with AuDHD are discriminated against constantly in the real world and I don’t think it’s safe for “people” such as this to be able to discriminate against minorities. The whole purpose of our shared online space is so that we can be inclusive and enjoy this hobby together.
I can't see Korea accepting him with these racist, sexist and horrible attitudes towards minorities and we shouldn't either. This is a petition to our sc media class (looking at you Artosis) to stop platforming such toxic and vile players.

Sorry to hear that, is this really your first post or are you posting on an ALT account? Because if you are posting on an ALT account, it really makes this a little more difficult to take seriously.

Not defending his words or actions by any means but realistically speaking, I doubt that most people care enough to start a social justice campaign over someone using "retard" while playing a 30-year-old game to 20 viewers who themselves are likely in their 30s and 40s and have lived through decades of such online discourse in their youth when you would regularly be told by your opponent that they slept with your mother.
Should he have treated you that way? Absolutely not. Will Gypsy (who is permanently banned from TL) or Artosis (who hasn't used the site in like a decade) see this or care? Also no.
So, it's probably best to just let it go and move on. There is no reason to waste your time, energy, and emotions on this at all. There is no benefit either. The way people treat you is not a reflection of you but of themselves. Remember that and invest your energy accordingly, IMO.
E: Re: Bolded part: Perhaps I'm wildly mistaken but I am pretty sure these attitudes are much more widely espoused and accepted in Korea than you might think; I honestly lol'd when you said Koreans wouldn'taccept racist/sexist attitudes. The only confounding issue is that he is not Korean himself, which is an issue because of the previous statement. What's your exposure and experience with Korean culture? Maybe you have a more updated take.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. My ailments (of which Gypsy would likely attempt eugenics to eradicate) makes it hard to stay on top of things.
My therapist and I thought it important to speak my peace and stand strong against these abusors and perpetrators.
I'm not one to language police. But the line is crossed when its used to subjugate and crush minorities which have a long and storied history of oppression. My commitment is to combat whiteness and colonizers no matter the form they take.
To Telecom: This is my first post as it's the first time someone with a powerful platform and influence within the starcraft community has shows their true colours of rasicm, ableism and discrimination.
To Jealous: Koreans can't be racist due to long standing power inequity and subjugation under U.S colonial rule re: Korean war (read much?).
Gypsy and his ilk simply parrot Israeli implanted language designed to divide and oppress. It only serves to widen the power divide and keep minorities in their place.
