biggie. mathematical flow. best sounding rapper of all time. questionable writing ability. it has been said that craig mack ghostwrote ready 2 die. given the utter shit (well, comparitive shit) that came out of biggie's mouth afterwards, i am inclined to agree. nas. artist. great voice. chases the dollar. soft. lacks charisma. terrific artist. jigga. talent. creative. smart. alot of the wordplay you hear today, he created. eminem bit his wordplay, and rode the 2pac matyrdom train to superstardom. why do you think nobody gave a fuck about the slim shady lp? he was just the white dude with ill flow until he dropped the mmlp, and adopted the pac-martyrdom style image. instant $$. there is a reason why shyheim aka the rugged child fell the fuck off after "on and on". he was garbage. he was better than that other "kiddie hardcore" duo tho, i must confess. gza shines as a producer, not a lyricist. big-l was the man. he took b-boy murder music (from a skills standpoint) much farther than raekwon, spice 1, or eazy e. arguables: rakim. delivery. innovation. buckshot. god flow. understated delivery. slick rick. storyteller. bourgeoisie. artist. pussy. nas before nas. great individual performances on an album: guru on hard to earn. common sense (now common) on can i borrow a dollar. q-tip on midnight marauders. there's more but bleh.

Jayz is one of the best cuz look how long he's been in the game and still going strong, you know how many people flop in the rap industry? Granted he might not be puttin out stuff thats original and creative as it used to be, but you try staying in the biz for as many years as him. And yeah, Nas chewed him up, horribly. I still listen to the song Ether to this day. Not sure who tried saying puffy was a good rapper.... have you lost your damn mind? The only reason he's in any videos rapping is because he owns bad boy and makes all the top decisions and does anything he wants. He's a good businessman, not an artist =/ Im only on the 5th page and i just said fuck it ill respond now. Everyone knows it was a damn shame how bad eminem made Jayz look in Renegade. Whether you want to admit it or not, eminems part was much better than jayz's, even though i liked jayz's part. And i dont know whats with all the hate on down south rap, mad cuz they coming up? Getting more popular as time goes on? And if you wanna go back and fourth with trading verses, sure ill do that using eminem, i could go on forever. But what it comes down to is, what your taste is, i get tired of hearing jayz voice after a while and i dont find his music as thrilling as down south shit. I would much rather get crunk off some tight beats, and dance to it, than sit down and dissect somebody's nice lyrics. Even though i do both. Simply put.. Jayz = one of the best... well respected, but yeah got ate up by nas IMO (and mostly everyones). Eminem = talented as a mofo. Cannibus = not to be f*cked with in battling.

In no particular order, Run DMC- first rap record to go platinum, had many different achievements, brought real positive music unlike the shit today Public enemy- Really not given the credit tehy truely deserve, as like dmc they rapped about real issues and wasnt about money like all the rappers today. Nas- Yes, he did have a dry spell but ILLMATIC was a masterpiece, anyone who disses this album DOESNT know rap ok? 2pac- OF course id have to put 2pac in here, its a shame that all these new beats and lyrics are just all ripoffs of 2pacs songs, this guy had no trouble with writing lyrics that could trouble the mind and send out a real message. 2pac turned from a immature kid from cali and turned his power in the industry to try and send a message to kids in the hood. its a shame taht talent like taht had to die, u kno if pac was alive the rap game would be a lot different. B.I.G- ? i presonally dont like this kid, fucknig idiot, didnt send out and message, didnt do anything for the community as far as im concerned. Although he was still a genius in the studio. Mobb deep- Hey look if u know rap u know mobb deep, songs like survival of the fittest, give up the goods, oh man can u say fucking classics, i think ill leave it at that ![]() Rakim- OH HOW could i miss this guy man, KING of freestyles, KING of battling, ya this is 50's inspiration for rapping. simply amazing. NOTIBLE mentions ( these are NOT greatest rappers but just NOTIBLE MENTIONS GET IT?)- Say what the fuck you want about eminem he opened new doors to rappers like him or in other words, his race and how can eminem not have talent, hes hardworking and that song "stan" had to have some real fucknig thought put into it. With dre behind him (dre as another notible mention, as is the group NWA) i hope to see eminem producing and im looking forward to him making more albums. 50 cent- oh? thought after all taht i wouldnt mention this fucker. Ya i hate 21 questions too, but this kid has some crazy talent. and face it folks, he IS the future of rap. In conclusion, if u dont like this list u can suck my balls. :D

run dmc and public enemy are groups, not rappers. tupac amari shakur was born and raised in New York City. he attended a performing arts school and performed under the name "MC New York". he didn't arrive on the west coast until he was in his 20's. mobb deep is a group. without shook ones pt. 2, nobody would have even known who they were. the crap they put out afterwards solidified their previous anonymity to a new generation of rap music fans. 50 is a solid artist. he is not the future of anything. saukrates is the future of rap, or, at the very least, the inheritor of creative/soulful rap in the mold of common.

im not even gonna continue with this thread anymore. Im arguin with someone who thinks jayz is the best of all time cuz he says shit like "Jay to the izzo" for shizzzzzzzzzzzle and " how u think i got the name hova, i've been reala the games over?" wut the fuck does that mean?? with that kinda taste im surprised u don't like them southern rappers. Btw i'm not hatin on southernern rap...they got their own style i just don't like it. some pple like it others dont. im guessin alot of ppl like it since they makin all the money now. lol@hovz again. u consider someone that uses wordplay as a good rapper. and the sad thing is he aint even good at that. Tell me one good deep meaninful track with a point that jayz has made recently?? both Nas and Eminem are far better than Jayz. And if it came to battlin Canibus will chew him up. All jay has is good dilivery of words. too bad he dont have original or meaninful words. And to whoeva says jayz has stayed prominent for a long ass time and still makin money. thats not the issue here. if good rap means who makes the most money from sales than u can put jayz on the list cuz ppl like hovz keep buyin his shit and jayz knows wut the consumers want and like. not wuts necessarily good musik. come to think of it hovz gimme me a line from jay that means somthin and original plz

LOL Well anyway, since it hasnt been clarified yet what kinda lines we're talking about ill just throw one out there. "....Wrap you in rope and plastic, stab you with broken glass, and have you with open gashes straped to a soakened matress/ Coke and acid, black magic, cloaks and daggers, fuck the planet till it spins on a broken axis/ I'm so bananas im showin up to your open casket to fill it full of explosive gases and close it back with a lit match in it, while i sit back and just hope it catches/ blow you to fragments, laugh, roll you then smoke the ashes." - Eminem, Hellbound.
