some good points raised here Going into Mythic now after having farmed heroic for 2 months i don't have any mythic gear and 4 bosses drop no loot that i need, 3 of them drop one item and 3 more have multiple/significant upgrades (elisande and gul'dan being two of them), that's unusually low scaling for WoW. EN and TOV had unusually low scaling as well, perhaps for different reasons. Just got legendary #7 after somewhere around 1000kp farmed (fourth week of full clears). Shoulders now, so missing KJ's, Sephuz and Blur Chest :D | ||

There is only 1 item I need out of the 7 mythic bosses we have killed. THe rest i got lucky with TF and WF's out of heroic. And the gains for 5-10 i levels are minor enough for me to just offer to sit out everything (if I can till progression bosses). | ||

and this guy goes on about killtimes not decreasing Based on actual killtime data that shows throne(?) killtimes dramatically decreasing over time while NH killtimes are almost the same as they always were. It's clearly happening, the only discussion is why I'm 922 bag without any mythic gear. The guys with "real" mythic gear outsim me by quite a bit, mostly from having farmed mythic for 2 months of warforging.. but not by that much. We all jumped up massively going into Nighthold gear, from 450k simDPS to 750-820k, but they didn't get much more than me from being in Mythic stuff instead of Heroic stuff that was warforged by more on average. The gap between tiers is still the same, 15ilvls, but most players have probably killed WAY more heroic bosses than mythic bosses unless they got deep into mythic very early in the tier. Those guys cannot possibly have bonus rolled Gul'dan Mythic 15 times. More heroic gear = average ilvl is increased by more than the mythic gear was, ilvl gap is smaller. | ||

Assuming that mythic+ dungeons are scalable and yielding rewards that scale with the m+ level, can't you acquire gear that is better than what you can get during the current raid content? Like, you don't need to do raids to keep scaling mythics, right? So what's stopping you from being overgeared already when a new raid comes out? | ||

So (numbers pulled out of my ass) if you get 880 gear from M+10 and heroic raids also give M+10, why not use that 880 gear to do M+12 and get level 900 gear? My point is, can't gear from Mythic+ dungeons get you to the point where you can't progress any further, beyond what a raid can give you? | ||

Yes, running M15 will get you to roughly Heroic Nighhold level. (bit below since later heroic bosses drop 890) And yes this is part of why the very top end of guilds farmed M+ for a while. It's clearly happening, the only discussion is why I dont see it clearly happening. Trilliax kills vary from like 5:30 to 3:30 on the top 200 from different guilds. Krosus varies from 6:02 to 4:54. Spellblade top 100 from 7:59 to 5:38. Ticho 8:02 to 6:39. Botanist 9:05 to 6:59. Thats just 2 months and only 40 guilds have it clear. When i raided it took us 4 months to clear ToT and that was top 150. 6 months for SoO and that was top 300. Kills got faster when you were at 8/10 or 9/10 and it still took you a month to beat the last boss because he was a fucking bitch. Kills wont get faster when you are 5/10 now and your first kill needed everyone on 910 severely outgearing the boss already to just bout beat the enrage. | ||
