Yeah that seems to be the case for most tank classes. Not sure it's extreme enough to consider a problem though? At best I tend to compete with my top DPSers on 3-5 mob trash pulls. Bosses are back to normal. Guess tanks doing too much damage on trash is bad ![]() Worried about it making soloing/leveling tank specs considerably slower too. I enjoyed leveling my DH as Vengeance, it was a good balance of survivability but still enough damage to feel like you weren't holding yourself back. Wanted to do some other classes that way too in the future. Guess we'll just have to see what changes they have in mind. | ||

Tank damage is only competitive in massive aoe pulls anyways, at least bear tanks. My prot paladin friend bursts to pretty huge amounts (in the 400k range) single target and actually beats my DH on boss fights sometimes, especially when i'm not running chaos blades which is the last choice for lvl 110 talents in dungeons. I can 100% see what they're saying there about some tank damage being competitive with DPS at times, particularly when those tanks can swap out survival talents/trinks to hit hard. If they can do SO MUCH damage then it's worth doing earlier than it otherwise would be because there is a significant survivability penalty when you do that. If this nerf didn't happen then you'd see people stacking specific tank classes with DPS talents and trinkets to beat enrage timers or make fights faster and easier. | ||

If it was such a problem couldn't they just make it 5% or put it on the legion enchants too? Do we have to figure out these changes mid-dungeon or can we actually get some warning in the future, at least a patch note? | ||

Little disappointed they did not mention it at all though. And tank damage was expected eventually. Many tanks do good burst damage and they shouldn't be overtaking dps in a decent amount of fights. While most tanks I run with dont beat me in dps (except mass aoe stuff), I have had them do 60-70% of my damage on fights. Thats pretty considerable comparing someone who has a focus on protecting your team. I think if they only did 50-60% of my damage that would be more in line. I am not sure how dps will grow compared to tanks since if we gain dps faster than tanks then eventually tanks might only do like 30% of our damage and it would be negligible addition to a fight. Unless that is what Blizzard wants. | ||

Same with healers but that is a lot easier since the Healer cant just spam his dps abilities non stop, he has to heal the group most of the time. Unlike tanks who only need a few gcd's for their mitigation and spend the rest of the time basically doing dmg. | ||
