Lots of bad stuff about warlock viability before launch. I would much rather see an armory census like MMO-C has done in the past but sadly thats no use with the updates being borked. | ||

Most locks on forums and that i've talked to ingame are not happy about anything right now. Hunters not pleased either but they are a bit more playable and numerically strong. There is a big balance patch coming but it's still not all that fun to play a spec that performs much worse than other specs - word from blizzard is also that they're planning on keeping the amazing specs as the best specs rather than overnerfing them as well, so there is a lot of reason to switch onto the FOTM spec at launch. I hope that we get both raid and dungeon capabilities taken into account for the balance patch because some specs like WW monk, havoc DH, fire mage, BM hunter absolutely destroy some entire classes for overall damage on dungeons. They could be toned down, but some classes are clearly lacking. Balance druid for example went from a great AOE DPS a few months ago to being completely uncompetitive | ||

warlocks are just really whiny, they went full warrior on the forums They had good reason to. The game would be a lot worse if everyone sat back, took whatever awful version came out of the doors and paid full money for it every time without question | ||

Hunters have been the most popular class for pretty much every expansion, while Shamans have sucked and been pariahs for most expansions. Which is strange because I'm keeping up in dps with people way more geared than myself when I just hit 814 with my Hunter. They're not doing bad at all, but I suppose they did change it a lot from what people enjoyed before. I still think it's fun. | ||

A lot of the straight out undertuned specs are not very popular. With blizz comitting to keep the good specs on top for the sake of people not having to switch artifacts i expect worse performing specs to be even less popular than before | ||

As for hunter, maybe people got bored. Marksman is so stupidly simple there is literally no way you can do wrong and you barely have to push any buttons with the long cooldowns on the good spells. | ||

Interesting to note how while Warlocks have kept their status, Druids have ended up the most populous. They've come a long way from being only widely accepted as Resto back in vanilla to being the only quad-spec class in the game capable of performing all 4 roles. | ||
